hi in summer my gti6 Engine was destroyd i dont know why, failer in bengine, big end bearing and main bearing was destroyd. i changed them in summer, i putted in my xu10j2 crankshaft from 1996 into my gti6 Engine.
i had Heard that the original was the way to go to put in Engine if the crankshaft bearing never had been changed which never had been changed so i ordered them,

now the shaft is stuck and Asbjörn a good friend to me said that i had to be messured becaouse its very many different main bearing in Engine. so i have bought a micro meter now, do you guys know what exaktly main bearing in the j2 crankshaft from 1996 should have for exaktly bearing,

or do i have to messure them, the car is 400 km from here so its hard to go down and messure, when i have to order the new bearing. somebody know what main bearings? the big end bearing should be the right ones Asbjörn said becaiuse its only 2 to choose, and i have original.

I'm not completely sure but I don't think that crankshaft is compatible with the RS block. Sure welsh pug will be along shortly to correct me if I'm wrong! Thumbs up

You need to measure the bearings – there’s no way around it.

The XU10J2 and XU10J4RS have the same journal and tunnel size – so the bearings and crankshafts can be interchanged.

The standard bearing sizes are 60.00 on the mains and 50.00 on the big-ends.

The first undersize is 59.70 on the mains and 49.70 on the big-ends.

You may have been supplied the incorrect bearings – the standard main bearings should measure 1.845 thick.

Cheers,
Rich
