Seeing as I've been spending all my time over the past few years learning whats hot and whats not tuning-wise for the Nissan RB26 (Skyline GTR engine) I'm thinking that now that the Pug's hopefully going to hit the road imminently, I might want to add just a wee bit more power. Unsure .I had an S16 many moons ago but never tuned it at all so I'm clueless as to what would constitute a decent bang for buck.

Don't want to go daft, as that sort of thinking is reserved for GTR upgrades, but was wondering what would deliver good gains for a budget of around £5-600??

Only upgrades engine related at the moment are a K&N induction kit and a Scorpion catback.

Opinions would be much appreciated!

It's got to be a 2/3rd hand supercharger

What would a used set of throttle bodies cost and what gains would typically be expected on an otherwise std engine??

More than £600 when you take into account an aftermarket ECU and mapping Yes

For £600 id be tempted to look at a slight suspension upgrade instead Smile

Car sits on brand new B4's with -30 Apex springs up front and a lowered beam with 21mm TB's and gas dampers up the back.

would coilovers up front make THAT much of a difference??

I would suggest solid beam mounts and maybe some 4 pots up front, can't really get a lot of hp out of these engines with a small budget

3j Plate diff & 2.4 steering Rack made the most Differance to mine after My Suspension & solid mounts ....
Diff car ...
Although Ashs 330 Brake kit was massive improvement on late braking for Trackdays ?

Leave the engine alone for now & get it handling & stopping better first ...I have & it's much more fun Thumbs up

My track car has loads of handling/chassis mods, but the engine is mostly standard. Great fun though! I agree with Day Yes

Whilst I agree that 4 pots etc etc are a good mod, mine is similar to pebbles as in lots of chassis mods/ suspension mods, you don't need 4 pots on a relatively standard engined car, some proper pads and uprated fluid do the job perfectly well! Thumbs up

Billet flywheel can be had second hand for £150.

Ditch the sound proofing and interior and lose a few kgs.

Or a used inlet cam and remap could be had for about £600
