You guessed it, I’m planning a trip to Northern Italy in the S2000 to hoover up, amongst other things the Stelvio Pass. But more than that, it’s going to be a 2 week tour/holiday, so not just ploughing along the Autoroute to get the miles under the car as quickly as possible. In fact I’m not looking to do too much motorway, but instead visit some nice, perhaps hidden gems along the way. The scenic route if you will.

So my question is this, does anyone know, collectively or individually any really nice areas, locations, B&B’s, roads, restaurants that I should punctuate my route with from Calais to say Lake Garda??

Which way are you planning on going? I normally avoid Switzerland and go through Germany, onwards into Austria through the Tirol and then stop in Innsbruck, before dropping into Italy. Stunning part of the world, you won't be disappointed, I'm Jealous!

If it were me, it would be through South East France to get there, taking in the Alps in all their glory and the awesome N85 Route Napoleon, one of if not the best road in Europe. Smile

Interested in the route to Stelvio as that's my back bit as heading there via Lake Como from Santander on 3 week Road trip. Mate has been around Black Forest before B500. Worth looking on bike forums for good roads to do.

So roughly how much would such a trip cost? Id love to do something like this, but wouldnt have thousands to spend! Pistonheads were advertising a roadtrip through France last week soaking in the Col du Turini amongst other roads... think it was a 7 day trip and they were asking £1400 a person... which i thought was quite reasonable?
