Hi all,

Nah being broken I'm afraid.

Head and cranks sold.

Just block and pistons/rods remaining now

Will split conrods and pistons if there's interest.

If I took the rods, pistons and the block and built it up with a fresh head etc, what else will it need? I read somewhere maybe in a previous post of yours the compression was too high or something? Forgive me if I am wrong...

block is sold I'm afraid.

however take a standard 86mm block to a machining company and they will be able to take it to 87mm no problem.

yes this engine complete had compression issues. ie to high to safely be a circuit engine. Hence why stripping for parts.

You can't just sling an aftermarket engine together, it'll just end in tears. you need build the engine in theory/ on paper unless you just take the pistons/rods to a builder to sort it all out

FOR SALE thread cleaned up, if you're going to have discussion about how or how not to use these, or how good or bad wossner are please do it in the engines section and not in someone's for sale thread.

Thanks
Jeffers

The reason for the engine being oulled apart is excessive compression, as per petes post, theyre nowhere near what is advertised

So the compression ratio wasn't known, and as a result the engine was useless? (which in turn lead to the engine being pulled apart)

Any chance of a picture showing the material thickness between the rod bolt and the bearing surface?

The compression advertised will be using an unskimmed head and an unskimmed block, given my head has been skimmed to the edge of the valves and the block has been skimmed slightly the compression is considerably higher than it normally would be.

I'm now dubious as to whether everything has been calculated correctly with regards to my compression ratio as it seems exceptionally high, so I'm doing it all again tonight, will let you know the results...

There's absolutely f**k all wrong with these pistons, my last engine ran them fine, as do many many others. The quality of them is at least as good as my Omega pistons, if not better.

I am interested though, which is why I was asking such important information?

I am trying to figure what would be needed to make these work well!
