So... My injector seals started leaking at the weekend, Obviously being a mug i thought i'd give Peugeot a ring to find out how much these bits of rubber cost so i could pick up on the way home! Yes

Hello? Yes... O-rings?!

That'll be £13.60 a pair please....

I'm sorry?!!

So that's £54.40 for the set of 8!

I don't think so mr Rip-off Peugeot Dealership sir.....

After a quick browse on the internet, you guys funnily enough recommend Mr Injector and i now have a set on its way for under £15
How can they justify these stupid prices? Shock

haha I had an engine diagnostics guy come out other year as car was failing on emissions. I think that fell down to the injector seals and it didn't even come to £55 for call out charge, him to run some diagnostics and eventually replace the injector seals!

That is bonkers, I know that main dealer stuff is usually a bit more than motorfactor but charging that much for a couple of seals is mental.

Yes, I have had a couple of sets off Mr Injector in the past - excellent service. Yes

The reason Peugeot can justify these crazy prices is because there are people out there who *believe* they must have the genuine part. Therefore, regardless of the cost, they'll buy it. All the time that goes on, the dealers can charge what they like. Crazy

The problem is and we have it at work is that they will blanket price rise the whole parts system with say 5% because that's in reality happens per annum and after 5 years parts become so expensive unless the supplier is challenged by a purchasing manager or sourced elsewhere.

I went to a Honda dealer a few weeks back to pick up 2 small washers for a brake calliper...£8. Enquiries about a new cat converter...£2273. Prices are just insane these days, I'm sure it will get to a stage where it will be cheaper in the long run to buy a new car and scrap it after a few years.

That can't be right about the cat surely? I wonder how many of them they have actually sold Dunno

They are trying to make it harder for people to work on their own cars and to modify them within the laws aswell.

    Holy crap!!!!
No surprise though with the cost of inflation.
Cannot wait to see if the ones i have ordered fit, apparently there are 3 or 4 different type injectors that were fitted to the Gti/Rallye Razz

Was last year so the link is dead unfortunately. It appears the bloke isn't doing them at all anymore. He had them listed for various cars and also then a mass of auctions for small nitrile rubber O rings so he must have bought them in bulk from a hydraulic supplier or similar.
