Dont be silly, you knew what I meant, it doesnt leak when standing or driving moderately only under hard load Roll eyes

After reading about them, the make of them makes a difference, you'l be fine because they arent ebay jobbies LOL

When driving to save fuel by keeping it below 2k revs its fine, its when oil temp is around the 100c mark and revs are constantly hitting 6.2 ish where the max torque is, (had a rolling road test), it seems to leak.

Ill be changing that side how the haynes says so again with a new one in due course. I'll inspect the seal and report back, do you recommend reusing the pug oil when its just recently been changed, iirc it needs changing every two years?

A bit of temp in the oil and higher engine revs shouldn't affect how they seal.

I'd leave the box oil in, jack the car up nice and high on the nearside then the oil will stay in the box when you remove the shaft. Easy peasy and no stinky oil everywhere.

most people fit them wrong, hence the numerous tales of leakage, the old style as pictured and commonly supplied by motorfactors for around £6 a pair should not be fitted flush.

Whereas the later smooth type currently supplied by Peugeot should be flush.

Both types have the same part numbers.

Ill check what mine are then because they could be either types and I cant remember how they looked.

But as said only one side leaks and fitted both the Haynes way.

I fitted my cheapo ones at the weekend too, they leaked so bad I skidded in the oil trail I left from the garage and destroyed the car!

Oh no wait a minute, they're fine no leaks here Wink

What make are they ?

Only one is leaking, or did I mention that already LOL I'll soon see what caused it no doubt, mine never leaked for a while after fitting them, least i never noticed them doing so.

If only all cheap stuff in life was as good and lasted as long as your seals, there would be no need to pay for quality stuff anymore Razz LOL
