Poor? You've got to be kidding, the boys at the front of that F1 series are spending serious money, they usually have 2-3 cars setup for different courses...

You can race at a budget but still costs a fair bit like!! Some of the hot rod cars are 35k upwards!

It's mega fun tho!!

F1 stock cars as in those little buggies with massive spoilers? I thought we were talking about old Ford Cortinas and Granada Estate kind of stock cars here.

Went to see stock/banger racing, was a good day out. The destruction derby at the end was awesome.

So a little update on this, I messed about starting at the back for the remainder of last year, then got car all fixed up and sign written for this years racing, I've been to 3 meetings this year, and I've got 28points currently still a white roof but will be going to yellow or blue roof for next month, so happy how this years started, only down side of racing is no time for track days with the Rallye!!

Here is couple of pics if my car

Picture above is my mates Saxo, over the closed season we returned an old cargo 813 horse box to take the two cars, it's all plated correctly and totally legal, I'm in process of going through my licence, was alot of work to get the lorry how we wanted but it's paid of as we've not been stuck for tools or spares yet, also the lorry sleeps 4 so it's ideal for down south meetings! Some before and after pics,

After pics, still waiting on decals going on,

So now that is all done I bought another car to build for nearer the end of year as I'm still a total novice and learning every race, but ax panels are harder to get so I've got a 106 to paint and put my set up on it.

How much do these cost to build / run (entry fees, rubber etc)? Is it a 1400 8v class? Is much tuning allowed?
