Hi all,

Its been a while since i have been online (just renewed membership in fact) and im after a bit of advice regarding my suspension set up if anyone can help/advise. Basically i am going to get some bilstein b4 shocks and 30mm eibach springs for up front and lower the torsion down 25mm on the back as iv read on here its a good setup for fast road that wont break the bank! Is this correct in other peoples opinions?

Also while im at it im wondering if there are any other parts that would be worth replacing suspension wise as i want to improve handling as much as possible (albeit on a fairly tight budgetThumbs down)? At the present time i would have to go with OE parts as the budget is tight....

I will be using the guide on lowering the torsion bar so a big thanks to the author of that and although im sure this subject has been covered and i have read a few threads on suspension i just wanted to get some up to date opinions and advice Smile

B4's are the same as standard shocks, you want to go for B8's they are the shocks that are the boy for fast road. They are 280 for the set new but there are always sets come up for sale on here. If you want to change the front and rear shocks the B12 kit is B8 fronts with Eibach -30's and B6 rears (There is no such thing as B8 for rear)

I would change the rear beam mounts for solid, I think that Davey is knocking them again for about £120, seriously worth investing in, but it depends on the budget.

Same with the front bushes, a refresh with OEM will totally change the handling, but Rich_W roller bearings are meant to be the nuts (Mine are on order LOL) Look what comes up second hand though.

Depends on how tight your tight budget is

I would start from here and work down
Im sure some would disagree
In order, Assuming your beam is ok camber wise

Top mount bearings (you are taking the shocks off anyway)
wishbone bushes
Balljoints
Rear shocks
Rear beam mounts
droplinks (you would probably know if these were gone anyway)
tre's

Last on the list would be arb bushes imo

I would change the droplinks, TRE's, balljoints anyway since the whole lot only costs about £50 from Pug.

Of course people are going to disagree, it's a forum. Nobody can be right on a forum LOL

Me too. (obviously :p )
Depends on the budget though obviously.
I get the idea hes after bang for buck so sticking with the febi bilstein or lemforder bits that are O.E might be best for him for now.

Wishbones wise Motaquip ones are an absolute bargain at 26 a side.
I have no idea on the bushes in them and i wont as im replacing then with the rollers but even so they are supposedly good quality in that regard as well
