i'm probably being paranoid but when going over speed bumps i get a light squishing noise from the dampers, there are no leaks but i could swear that the N/S damper is noisier.

i'm thinking about sending them away for a service/checkover as i am very happy with them so will be keeping them for a while. Surely they shouldn't make any noises at all??? i have them set to full soft so not as if i have been beating the s**t out of them

With the windows down you might hear oil going through the valving, I can hear mine usually.

As a highly technical description, it's like a short, sharp 'Pschht'

I reckon you are, yes. If they were completely knackered (i.e. leaking) you'd know about it through other methods than just the sound Yes

Just make sure the shocks are as clean as possible and there's no grit being forced anywhere and they'll be fine.
