Which bias valve to go for? Lever or knob?

Probably looking at getting a Wilwood one, and seem to be about same price whichever one you go for.

Thats the only thing I thought of. Well, I am by no means a racing driver, and wont be adjusting it as I go round the circuit. (ie moving balance for heavier braking areas etc).

I just want to remove the ABS and be able to set it on something that doesnt snake the rear end under heaving braking Laugh

I am about to remove a wilwood lever type bias valve if you are interested. I picked up a cheap AP Racing one to replace it when I fit my new brake lines.

I am Yes

Even on a straight road, accelerate, then brake hard and rear end sways round all over the shop. (my rear suspension is broken, so that probably has something to do with it)

Yes very. Found a compbrake lever type one for £43 delivered (new). How much would you want for yours? And when is it being removed?

Thanks

I have a knob.

I also have a Wilwood bias valve with a rotating top. Thought about a lever but the reality is I never really adjust it, so it makes no odds. It depends where you put it - levers are far easier to catch on a seat belt and pull into a stupid position if it's somewhere that might happen.

I knew a guy who had one by the right knee, so every time you got into the car you'd knock it on full, then s**t your pants the first time you braked LOL

I was looking for £30 delivered. I am popping down the garage shortly so will take a pic and hopefully get it removed.

I have a knob too.

Doesn't really matter which one as they both do the same job but the leaver is easier to adjust and could get adjusted accidentally when your working on the car. So if your not a clumsy fooker it wouldn't make a difference which one.

Just remember which direction does what!

I also have a lever type on that will be available soon as I'm going for a pedal box with a built in adjuster.

I now have a lever one that I have bought from Jorg.

Jim, care to advise how to set it up? Or is it just a case of trial and error to see what is best?

Trial and error, and it also depends on conditions. If it's wet, the rears will lock up more easily so you'll want the bias more towards the front.

Basically get on track, bias fully on to the back, keep braking as hard as you want to and adjust the bias forwards until the rears no longer lock up. That way you'll have as much braking at the back as you can without lockups.
