Hi,

Looking at doing 2 or 3 track days a year but using the car every day I'd like to keep standard ride height and suspension. I've been told that sticky tyres will just highlight the soft suspension so it can be better to run road tyres? Not sure on truth of that but makes sense. I am on a budget so not looking to spend a fortune.

I will be getting a second set of cyclones for track use so the tyres could be used exclusively for track too. Suggestions?

Thanks

if its just 2 or three just use road tyres, though not fresh ones as you'll just murder them.

Just look for some decent reviewed part worns on eBay, got myself a set or hankooks for like £30, they gripped well on the track and lasted the day.

if you're wanting to buy new, toyo t1r's offer good performance at a decent price but won't last long.

f**k t1r's there s**t. I wouldnt use anything else other than yokohama parada spec2s. i done 2 track days on 1 set last year and they held up very well on track and still used them on the road as well. other than that your looking to spend fortunes on A048s or R888s

They're not s**t, not as good as spec 2's. But then they cost a fortune.

£44 new for parada spec2s per tyre
£35-40 new for toyo t1r's per tyre

Think i would pay the little extra for the yokos. Sorry but my experience with t1r's i think they are s**t! A lot of people on here agree too

Out of the two I would be picking Paradas all the way. As above basically.

Always run spec twos, they are cheaper than T1R's now

Theyre not great, But if its them or t1rs I'd be going them all the way.

personally theres some less "cool" tyres than the ones people seem fasinated by (t1rs and paradas etc)
That are better and the same price there or thereabouts

Falken ze912 for example.
Should be perfectly decent for a standard car if youre not after mega tyres...

The falcons are good upto the point that they melt. Part worn pe2s or IF only for dry track days spec 2s. T1rs offer ok grip but wear very fast.

Eh?! Last time I had tyres fitted I could have sworn they were around £15 extra a tyre. Perhaps blackcircles had a sale on t1r's Dunno

I've always found T1R's in 45 profile on cyclones to grip pretty well on track... They don't last though Thumbs down
