What does it cost to get a rear beam lowered(currently on the car) swapped mine for a zx one months ago and never got em to lower it as i forgot.
this is where it sits now

handbrake is on there so prob settles a bit lower but thats about it
and this is on the old beam when i got it
so its gone from nose pointing up to nose pointing down and both look s**tRoll eyes

i know its like a dakar 4x4 version of the 306 LOL

also is there 2 ways to lower a beam ive never done it myself but thought i read somewhere there is 2 a right and a bodge?

basically my previous beam had zero travel and was horrendous to drive now this still feels pretty solid but has bit of travel. It came with what looked like nearly new mounts and shocks too

When you zero travel, you sure it didnt just have thicker torsion bars? I've seen them much lower than yours was and yet they've still travelled. Dunno

Measure the torsion bars with a vernier. 19mm is standard, anything above is uprated. If you cant push it down thwn id suggest yours were larger. Id suggest what you have now is okay. Just needs dropping. Smile

Isn't heating them up the last thing you want to do? There are bearings/seals in the tube so heat is not advised, or so I was told. I'm never touching a rear beam ever again, my 205 one ruined me, that's why I'm having Jord294 rebuild me one from scratch Smile

you can do it a couple of mm at a time, I'd recommend no lower than 25mm on stock bars.

if off a ZX most of the spec will be wrong at a guess, what dia are the bars?
And being off a ZX I'd stick money on it that it needs a rebuild, 99% of 306 ones do so lowering it without replacing and checking the bearings is well,

I don't think there are many 306 beams that are still going on the original bearings and not feeling/handling like a damp cardboard box

There is always a difference in ride height when fitting non o/e axles.

If you think about it, the xsara and zx have different bodyshell, so arches will be a different radius to 306
