Well the time has come that i now have my V6 GTi back after buying it last Feb very cheap. Replace steering rack and loads of other stuff and then took to Pug1Off end of July to get everything with the conversion done correctly.

It needed various stuff doing ie engine moving forward, rear beam raising and loads of little bits.

Will post a before and after pic.

Before

After

Just need to sort the bonnet spacers out ie remove and swap the interior out for me mint one.

Did they leave the bonnet open on it since July? LOL looks a lot dirtier. Thought you had got the pics around the wrong way, but the later pic is in the snow and the engine is actually forward. Or was the before pic an example of where your engine would have been (library pic of someone else's bay perhaps?)

No the red cover is My car but before with engine to far back and incorrect tilt.

The after picture is my car but with a different engine as i had to get another one due to oil contamination (Water).

May of been head gasket or where it was sitting for so long but didnt want to chance it so i got another complete engine, loom and gearbox.

I then have a complete spare i can strip and rebuilt somewhere down the line.

Where the air filter is under that is pretty much nothing obviously the gear box is there but a little further back.
Seeing the other engine out you would think how the f**k is that going in a 306 engine bay!

i nearly had to wait another week!

Id hyped myself up and i came home at 4am didnt feel tired so played the new devil may cry unti 5.45am checked my account and train journey as of the snow and maintance on circle line etc and then a sweet slot came up 6.18 leaving.

The train station is a fare plod so i thought sod it i will ride the moto down there and get it later as i had such a short space of time. Got there just in the nick of time aswell. Got to banbury just gone 9, matt came and picked me up and was chatting for ages.

The bill was hefty but as i got the car cheap in the first place i didnt mind taking to pug1off for a health checkup!

I dont mind spending on a car worth having. Heck of a lot cheaper then me R34 Skyline (£10 just to the shops and back lol)

The body work is near on mint! Small scratch on bonnet i need to get done and i have a spare boot lid as a bit of rust bubble under corner of glass but all the panels are straight and true no warping dents or scratches apart from the bonnet one!

Why would you move the engine forwards? Was it hitting the subframe/master cylinder?

    Was loads of issues.

The inlet manifold had the corner cut and plate welded to miss the brake servo.

Under the car the downpipes were pretty much touching the power steering rack pipes.

The exhaust down pipes were squashed by subframe on engine torque movement.

The conversion (homemade) was started using the wrong mount as a starting point and engine was not tilted correctly (oil starvation).

    To name a few lol

Fair enough, clearance is an issue. The pas pipes were a pain, created a new one to sort it.
Glad its all good now though. Still fancy one in a mong-mobile partner Ninja

You pick your times Laugh my ass off Can decide what to do with mine? keep it or sell it? Got the clutch to sort out yet. Dont think the v6 will make a very good track toy as it gets hot quick and a full day on track would probs just cook it!

The V6 is designed to run hot!

Got an oil cooler in mine with thermostat sandwich and at the mo oil stay at 90 i think and water 95.

A good coolant with water wetter will keep it cool
