hi folks and folkesess, i was having a slightly spirited set off yesterday, when i selected 3rd and floored it, it kind of dissapeared Confused, and its not come back since, ive not checked the linkages or anything yet, the box wasnt very good anyway and was making a few whines eg
its as tho the clutch has gone or been removed except all the other gears are fine, just the same as before but third its very easy to select and theres nothing there.
does anybody know where shes gone?

yes he does, i have thought about getting this one i have in the garage done but chris from perth still managed to break 3rd in his strenghtened one, i have a bit more power than his so cant see the point really, id like the quaiffe sequential box but i doubt ill get another 9 for a group buy and ive more chance of finding rocking horse s**t than a second hand quaiffe box

as welshpug is saying, what do quaiffe say?
I doubt it woukd take as any better tbh as you have pretty mahoosive torque too no doubt.
Personally a ml5 or possibly 6 would be stonger cheaper and no more hassle
You wouldnt be rinsed for 4k either

This is true, and this was all with a Miles built strengthened box. Yes

Sadev or Drenth are the only aftermarket box people you need to use, Quaife is the poor man's version,
On a std box you could go into X raying the gears to see how they are but it's rather expensive

Personally,
I would rather have 10 strengtened boxes on stand-by than pay 4k of one.

IF I was so inclined to spend upwards of 4k on a gearbox for a road car, I would be doing a whole lot else too.
Probably rear wishbones and awd.
Otherwise you have to think where does it stop?
A gearbox that costs more than your forged low compression engine, And how worth it is it really?
Better things to do with the money imo Smile

you do know 10x strengthened boxes will cost you significantly more than £4k right? LOL
