I know this has been covered before but did a search and cannot find anything.

The car seems to unlock itself now and again. On a copuple of occasions I have opened my car in the morning and its unlocked when I have defo locked it the night before. This morning I found my door open where some c**t had been rummaging through my car. Luckily nothing was stolen and the ignition barrel had not been tampered with.

Not sure if this comes under alarms or electrical...

What needs replacing?

Cheers.

i must admit i do find my car unlocked a lot when i am sure i'd locked it the night before LOL

i just tell myself it's me being forgetful as i've always got loads to carry when i get out

could be wiring loom maybe being broke and bouncing the lock when you do lock it i guess, maybe the locking module malfunctioning Unsure

Make sure it isn't unlocking straight away like mentioned, in the past this has happened to me and was caused by the door card obstructing the door lock pin. Wouldnt go down properly so the car would immediately unlock itself.

No its not unlocking straight away. At first I thought I was just been a tool an forgetting to lock my car but I know damn well I locked it last night and that its not me going mad the previous times. I dont know if its the rain or wind having an affect on it. Also for some reason now when I alarm the car (I have a Clifford Alarm) the siron dosesnt beep until about 10 seconds after I alarmed it. I dont know if this has anything to do with it?

Either the battery is getting low or the wiring has snapped in one of the doors usually.

Maybe it is the battery because my speedo has been flickering when I turn the igntion on and off lately and I thought that was a sign of the battery playing silly buggers. I might be wrong though but I'm sure I read that on here years ago.

Yes the speedo does flick and it would go hand in hand with the drop in tempreture lately- which mullers batteries.

The battery light is there to give you an indication of a charging circuit fault. If the battery is still ok but definitely past its best it won't illuminate the light on the dashboard young James. Wink

Yeah I was told that yesterday cheers Stanial.

Turns out its not the battery thats causing any probelmos though. The fault for the car unlocking itself is the clifford alarm. The speedo thing I am not sure about. At the moment its something im just gonna live with until I get home at Christmas where I have a driveway and I can pull the car apart and check stuff over. I will have to go to a Clifford specialist I guess to get the alarm sorted. At the mo I am just locking the car manually.

That will teach you for having a Clifford alarm. LOL

Just a thought, have you checked your bonnet is properly shut? This causes unlocking problems on the standard Pug alarm system. Yes

Yeah its all properly shut mate. Whats wrong with Clifford? Seeing as the Rallye has no real form of security I thought a Clifford alarm / immobiliser would be a good idea. Although never actually stopped thieves from stealing my stereo and damaging my car so... I might just take it out and if it gets stolen hope they set fire to the thing and I will get a tenner back from insurance. Sick of the car now.

    Clifford are poo.....fact.

I had a clifford a few years back that kept unlocking the car. Its normally a broken wire or fuse.

yes after this one I agree. Alarm going off for no reason, (usually weather related) and random things happening, I'm tempted to take the whole lot out. But its the immobiliser I want it for.

You could just buy a immobiliser and fit that after taking out the clifford poo

Or buy a new alarm with a immobiliser.

ive seen this problem alot on these cars, most of the time it was the harness that runs from the body

to the door (more so the drivers side), the wires break causing no end of issues, just peel back the

    sheathing and have a look
