I expect that's exactly where it would be to be honest, a reasonable compromise. Yes

The baffles only fall out of Stan's car because mice have moved in and made it home.

What is wrong with the longlife system? I don't know about sports cats but mine destroyed my standard cat within 6 months of being charged... only 5 mins to swap out if you get a custom job, then you definitely won't lose any power and it is a pretty low risk of being discovered on the road, and even then I imagine you just get a vehicle rectification form and have to get it checked at MOT station within 14 days. Personally wouldn't like to pay out all the money for a sports cat not knowing if it will be noticeable to perfomance and when it doesn't save a huge amount of bother.

It depends what you're after.
A sports cat will do the job, and it's a lot less hassle come MOT time of course which is what most people will think about. Wink

Mine used to kill sports cats while charged!

Haha you seriously crack me up dude,

Correct no cat (if spotted) now =fail. As far as insurance mine is on a highly modified policy an they don't really want to know if it has a cat or not I've stated it as a completely custom exhaust from manifold back and all Documents just say "exhaust system changes."
As well as my friends Astra coupe turbo was recently written off and it had the precat removed and a decat on with full miltec system and they paid out for the car and eventually a reasonable value for all the mods.

As above, it's all very well to run the decat, but come MOT time you have to faff around changing it for the sake of a 30 minute test, which most people will see as a major pain.

Mine has more than once..... Haha
But actually the last time I put mine on the emissions tester at work after doing an ecu reset it would have passed the idle test quite easily! And wasn't that far out on the fast idle. I've seen a lot worse on cars with a cat! But now it's charged and has a different map I doubt it wil pass... Spits out flames on the overrun :p

But on the other hand if your involved in a accident and your cars in a compound you have no access too you could be in troubleThumbs down

And anyone that has 'exhaust system changes' on there insurance really needs to double check they are covered for the cat being removedYes

It's down to the car owner to disclose 'all' mods rememberWink

As I've got 'exhaust system changes' on my insurance, but they made a point of saying that they only cover cat back changesRoll eyes
