It's all down to hard work mate that's all, you missed out the porsche 911 and the BMW by the way! LOL

I stopped drinking (not completely) about a year ago which saves me £100 a week. Plus working 7am till about 8pm actually makes a difference, also having a girlfriend which pays half the bills helps too.

Anyway, back to the 180. My mate Mark sourced me a set of mint phase 2 Valeo OE crystal lamps for the front of a 20k mile late breaker, so this evening i carefully removed the morettes and fitted the correct lamps, with new bulbs throughout. The grille was refitted properly with the little hockey stick clips that always break, replaced with new Pug ones.

Looks loads better now.

Next job is to replace the broken o/s/f fog light and renew the orange capless bulbs in the side repeaters.

Oh, and the wiper arm decided to drop off as i was shutting the tailgate, so ive got a new arm and blade from pug, just need to carefully remove the centre of the old arm off the motor splines as its stuck solid.

The fun of old pugs eh!!

More pics over the weekend

what makes everyone think they should be 20mm btw? they're listed as 20mm for the 180 on SB, 19.5mm for standard ew10.

22mm arb, 21mm for the 138.

massive scope for stiffening up there!

That beam is a brand new refurbished unit, as when I got it it was shafted. I bought it from imi axles in Melton Mowbray.

Been tinkering away on the little s**tter this week, replaced the bulbs in the climate control unit so now you can see where the buttons are, replaced the 3 bulbs in the MFD display and the ashtray also.

Internally theres still more work to be done, the height adjuster on the driver seat is worn, so to fix it in its lowest postition, im after a base model 3dr drivers runner to swap over in time. After that its a set of tailored mats and a new gear knob and its done.

Externally, ive replaced the horrid morettes with mint phase 2 crystals, all new bulbs and cleaned up behind them, fitted a set of contoured genuine Pug mudflaps and replaced about 6 broken arch fixing clips with new ones.

Next job is the replacement of the drivers foglight as the upper fixings have gone awol, then get it ready for some paint in the new year.

Mechanically i'll be going down the route of Bilstein B8's and eibachs on the front, which should lose 30mm off ride height as well, and some B8's for the back. The rears already low enough, so will be left alone to see how its sits.

Theoretically that should be it........ LOL

Having just had a look at mine it appears the height adjustment is part of the seat, not the runner

My new BNIB Pug fog light landed today, so simple old me thinks, "yeah 5 minute job that...." Once id got the wheel off, arch liner out, washer bottle out could i actually fit the damned thing!!

Good news is its not crusty underneath at least.

Did my usual colouring of the front fogs yellow, so at least it looks like a carbon copy of the wifes 206 now lol

Waiting on the V5 to come now so i can get my private plate put on it, then start buying some stuff after payday.

Ha ha - Ash its a 206, not got much going for it anyway LOL!!!

Drives really well though and is quite swift, need to lose the s**tty SP grille and bonnet vents as they look gash (as my Nan was prone to saying)

Anyway, with today being so cold, progress has been quite slow, saying that, most of it would go un-noticed anyway LOL

I've replaced the front discs with Genuine Peugeot ones (Cheaper than non gen from the factors!!)
Fitted new pads front and rear (OMP road and sport ones)
De-rusted and painted the front calipers and carriers
painted the rear brake yokes
and cleaned and polished the wheels inside and out using Autofinnese mint rims.
Gave the wheel bolts a quick rub over with fine grade wire wool.

One other thing which annoyed me was the rear tailpipes on the new exhaust. External chrome trim which is fine, but there was no protection on the inside of the tailpipes and rain water which caught there was leaving unsightly rust marks, so i got a scotch pad, gloved up and gave them a good fingering to get rid of the surface corrossion, then gave them 2 coats of gloss black heat proof paint inside. Should see it through the winter without them rotting away.

Not a huge amount of activity with cars this week, as we're having a new bathroom fitted so the house is in chaos and there is a skip behind the 206, so it couldnt go anywhere anyway!

Ive been scouring the internets for stuff and have managed to secure a genuine lower bumpergrille in the original plastic to get rid of the SP grille which i dislike, new in the box, stuck a sneaky bid of a fiver in and won it!

Also won a genuine unused old stock, set of Pug fog light covers for a bargain price

New genuine pug exhaust rubbers have been sourced for the rear box of the exhaust as the original ones are a touch baggy after 8 years.

Also got a set of Eibach gti 180 springs on order, they should be here monday, and today i've had a new CV joint on the drivers side as the old one started clicking, and theyre cheap and easy to change. Big thanks for Mark giving me a lift to fit that this morning.

Waiting for some genuine headlight covers to finish on the eBay as well, so that should smarten the front end up a bit.

Oh and to finish this week off my private plate has gone on the car, so it feels like mine now!!

Pics soon when ive got the front end apart in bits

Got the original "sport" lower bumper grille on this afternoon, general internet forum opinion was the bumper HAS to come off.. meh, goes on just fine with the bumper in situ, lots of skinned knuckles but fits fine and looks 100% better than a tatty old tarnished SP alloy grille

Then fitted the foglight covers, major faff, had to jack the front up, remove the splash shields and unbolt the foglight, fit the cover then refit. They fit ok and look very discrete, just hold water drops between the cover and the lamp when you've washed the damned car!!:censored:LOL:

Gave both the 206's a quick wash and heres how they look.

Next up suspension work over the next few weeks, along with a n/s driveshaft seal as thats leaking ive noticed as well

About time we had an update...

Had to change the heater matrix as it was weeping, piece of p**s to do on the 206, an hour from start to finish, Gen pug matrix wasnt cheap though!!

Fitted a custom sized front plate, and plain normal rear plate, removed the french ones.

Painted engine cover - brightens up the bay a treat

Fitted the carbon pollen filter that was missing from the hole (??) and also fitted the new leather/chrome Pug gear knob

I also fitted the janspeed cat back exhaust and K & Panel filter and have done a few miles, and it drives mint, sounds very subtle, pipes look OE. I'll get a pic when its lighter.

I attended my local car clubs rolling road day today, even CosKev came along in the Rallye, and mine made 181.5 bhp at 7010rpm, power levelled off at that point, and they revved it to 7600 rpm!!Shock

Kevs made a very solid 177bhp - one of the sweetest sounding cars of the day

Next plans are suspension work, I've got the new Eibach Springs ready, just need the Bilstein B8's to arrive then I can build the suspension units up. Rear dampers will be B8's also.

Then its a new Bottom Arm on the passanger side, full 4 wheel alignment, and then some engine bay detailing - im looking for a spare inlet manifold to get powder coated up.

Some more trackdays coming up, we've booked up to go to Spa-Francochamps in June for a 2 day trackday, then a day at the ring the same week, so it'll be earning its keep this year.
