My friend has a personal reg plate he got with a car, however, he has now put the original plate back one, so this is surplus to requirements.

Where is the best place to sell a reg plate? Never having owned one, I don't really know where to start...

If anyone is interested i think it read 'L10yd G'.

It'll read L10 YDG if you want to pass an MOT test.

I sold one on Reg Transfers years ago. They take a sizeable chunk of the sale price but I got the plate 'free' so didn't care.

Just google for companies, there will be loads.

Indeed, there will be loads of companies that do it. You can even sell it through the DVLA as well I believe. Yes

I hate to say it but they probably won't, my wife's number plate has been advertised with regtransfers for 4 years and not even a sniff. Cherished numbers have offered to buy it tho, I've reflected their previous offers but this time the offer is more what we expected so I may well let them have it now. Give them a try they may surprise you and offer something like first offer! Thumbs up

See I told you, Keith Lemon...LOL

Jeffers has a good point, I was offered fairly decent money for a private plate that's on retention from Cherished Regs a while ago. Seems they are one of the better companies out there. Wink

Ladybird fancy dress that's a good look. Have you selected the correct age to be on here? Look more 41 in that picture.

That might be worth a fair bit, only thing going against it is it's for a 10 plate and above but if it is worth a whack most people with the money to buy it will have a newish car
