LOL

I'd be interested to see what the price difference is in 17" compared to R888s. Yes

Stan - do you run R888s on the road? Need new tyres and the R888s are pretty much the same price at the Bridgestone RE11s I was about to buy. I don't care about the short wear rate, but I would like to be able to drive without being drowned out by the tyres...are they really that noisy? Unsure

My R888's dont seem too noisy on the road below 60-80mph, though my car is very noisy to start with so the noise may be downed out by other noises at lower speeds. Laugh

Whatever your greeting these for must be at least 19s? Hate to think how much they cost.

I don't find them noisy at all Alex, although my car is very loud as most of you know. Yes

But in terms of actual road noise, I actually found Paradas slightly noisier than R888's and they were hardly noisy at all. Wink

Got to say I find 888's a lot noisier than T1r's.

Anyone got an opinion on the federal fz201 for track performance and longevity?

Had the tyres on for a week, and they are nothing short of superb!

Totally different league to any other tyre I have tried (though I've not run R888 or similar).

Have run Parada's before and I actually didn't mind them, even if sidewalls were a bit soft, but the AD08s are in a different league!

Feedback from the tyres is the best thing about them, partly because of stiff sidewalls.

Grip is awesome as you would expect, and even in the wet there is a lot of grip (much more than Parada's). I don't tend to drive stupidly fast in the wet anyway, but could certainly tell when trying to get a move on that they were very sure footed.

All in all, best tyre I have used, by quite some margin. Could only maybe be topped by R888s and A048s etc.

Unfortunately for me, I have just fitted a set of 16" Team Dynamics to my car, so can no longer use these tyres!

So keep an eye on the classifieds as I might put my Cyclones with AD08s on up for sale. Literally brand spanking new, fitted only a week ago.

Won't be too long before I get AD08s to fit my 16s!

heard good reviews about these and a good alternative to R888's.

ive tried both A048's anr R888's on the 205 and felt R888's more pretictable but do fancy giving these a blast too

235/40/R19 & 305/35/R19s....just over $1600 from Tirerack.com, plus delivery and fitting. Not exactly a bargain it's true.

Still torn on whether R888s are OK for the road, people telling me they're not idea and I should get RE11s instead...but I've used R888s on a track and R-compound tyres really are a step above regular summer 'performance' tyres. No problems with warming them up and such guys? Unsure

I've never had a problem warming the R888's up on the road, probably takes 1-2 mins of normal driving then they're fine. Thumbs up

So wear rate aside, you recommend them as a fast road / occasional track day tyre? No downsides at all? What are they like with standing water? They look like they might be prone to dm some aqua planing.
