Hey Roll eyes
Sorry if this has already been answered, I've searched here and googled and cant find anything relative to the 6...

My rear is 8-10mm higher on one side than the other. Thats top of rim -> arch and ground -> bumper on a levelled workshop floor.
Any ideas?

No real creaking or banging from the rear when driving over bumps.

I know my front suspension well as I've recently had it in bits and replaced bushes etc... However know very little about the rear workings of these cars.

Thought I'd seek some wisdom before I start fault finding. Whistle

It's not been lowered. Or if it has been, they only lowered one wheel Farmer

So, you'd go with beam mounts? Thanks bud

I noticed the side that's low can take a little longer to rebound that the higher side. Would this go with a seizing trailing arm?

quite possibly. worth checking mounts as well, years ago when i lowered my 306 dt the ride height wasnt equal

i changed the 4 mounts and it was worse, i soon learned not to measure from arch to hub!

also have a good look at your coil springs, if 1 is broken then this will explain your problem

I thought the french were perfectionists? They are well known for their high standards. Not like the sloppy Germans Flip

Don't happen to know where that thread is or any search terms that would bring it up?

Think I'll get it in to a suspension place on the way home, they test it all then I'll fix what needs doing. <Mechanics love telling you whats wrong if they think you'll pay Big grin

i remember when these cars were fairly new, there was a difference in ride height, you'll tend to find most cars

have this, no car will be millimetre perfect corner to corner.

on your average 306, 8-10mm should be expected given their age, mileage etc

Thanks bud. Ill buzz by the garage anyway, might as well see roughly how much life the rear has left in it. Stopped me stressing so much about it. Owning a 13 year old peugeot takes more money and time than my girlfriend.

Thinking about it 8 -10mm seems quite a lot. It was enough for me to notice is anyway...
I dont know enough about the rear suspension on these, so I guess thats what I'll be up to this weekend.

Anyone else had this issue?

I can deal with 1 or 2, but 8 - 10 is a bit excessive. Might have a look this weekend.

Lost my license todaySad "excessive speed." bulls**t. that wasnt excessive. I can do excessive. That wasn't it...
so not too keen to stare at the car...

101km/h in 50km/h.
8 demerit points. (on top of the 4 i already have meaning 2 suspended periods)
Instant suspended license and a $933 fine. F**k Australia and it's convict laws. This isn't 1812. Driving in Cornwall was much more fun. 1 speed camera and no cops anywhere.

how long do you lose your license for over there? can you retake test or do you just reapply and get it back immediately? they always seemed to strike me as not bothered over there, especially re: whole insurance thing. my gf's cousin lives out there and has done everything under the sun and hasn't seemed to get any grief for it

if you lose your license out there, do you lose the ability to drive legally in uk?

6 months for being 40km/h + over the limit. 3 months/ 12 months on with only 2 points then back to a full license. the 2 points is a good behavior thing. They run together which is good.

The insurance thing is good. Though I you can get mental cars when you pass and not insure them. Saw a young lad on P plates, which is 1st year of driving here, with an s2000. WTF? Crash material surely? sidewards, VTEC, Tree Big grin

I'll keep my UK license, it doesnt affect it. Should find someone who's leaving to take the points and suspension Hmm

The cops here are like mini Hitlers mate. Seriously, don't p**s them off, they really aren't as slack as the boys in blue. Did get breath tested when I had bright red eyes and the munchies... Think he was doing me a favour Smoke

Hi Mate,

I have done alot of work on my pug the last 9 months - mostly upgrade work though. They are actually really easy to work on, if you need any help give me a yell. I live in Brissy 2 and have the pug and a Lotus and do track work with the pug once a month if you want to have a go I can point you in the right direction.

Cheers,

Jim

Legend!

I'd definitely be keen. Always working on my 6. How long ago did you get yours? Can't believe the price of them out here. I'm from the UK, they're so cheap there.

Gotta hit the hay as I have work early in the morning, but keen to catch up and chat.

Joe
