Hi guys,

Although I have been a member on here for quite a while, I have never really used the forum!

Few weeks ago I bought a GTi-6, Diablo Phase 2, and so far am just in love with it!

Just thought I would introduce myself and put a few pics of the girl up!

Currently has been lowered on springs at front, lowered rear beam, tints all round, phase 3 crystal front lights, and Magnex stainless system and de-cat. Have a Pipercross Viper carbon induction kit to fit at the weekend, but have many more plans for her!

Anyway, here is a few pics, hope to meet some of you guys at some point!

Ash

Just know the car as its from my neck of the woods.IIRC it snapped a timing belt, then was bought by a rather dodgy member called "pugplus!" put back together then sold to a member on here about 18 months ago

Not the greatest of history’s for my car then.

As far as you were aware, everything was put back together ok though? Although concerns me it was in the hands of a known dodgy member!

Definitely this car?

Fair enough. The guy I bought it from had owned it for about 18 months from memory, and did mention the timing belt was changed just before he bought it, so that would fit with what you are saying.

Seems to run spot on though so fingers crossed all ok. Would a head gasket normally be changed at same time as timing belt?

To be fair he was copying a lot of the F.A.Q's off this forum so as long as he followed the procedures correctly the car will be fine. I remember the plate now and when Pugplus was getting irate at members commenting on his workmanship and they said to not FAF about.. Damn time goes by quickly.

If you search 'PUGPLUS' in the search options you will probably be able to find the thread where he was fixing this car. Thumbs up

Well I guess if it still around now then everything, fingers crossed, is ok!

Just found the member Pugplus on here and was reading through all his started threads, but nothing there! Cheers for the heads up.

The car came to Rich (pugplus) with a knocking bottom end rather than belt failure. He would usually just brake them but being a nice example with ~70k miles on it he decided to fix it. I remember the car quite well as I did a lot of the engine work for him.

It had a replacement bottom end fitted hence new headgasket etc along with new timing belts and most other service items changed. In the end it also had a different head as after getting rid of the bottom end noise it was apparent it was a "tapper". The last time I saw it the car was running well and would of been a good buy for someone imo.
