I haven't seen anything about this myself but my good friend Mark who like me is a proper petrol head but unlike me is currently a Pug owner informed me earlier, that he saw on the News that they are putting Fuel (petrol) up at the end of the month and even more towards the end of the year/beginning of next year upto Circa £1.50 a litre or more specifically £1.46. If that is the case then Diesel/super Unleaded are likely to be 8-10p more?

Anyone else heard or seen anything about this?? Unsure

Discuss...

Must be true. A garage near me, namely BP has increased its price by 8p in the last 2 weeks! I don't understand it when currently the price of oil is low.

*edit* I do understand. The just want to rape the motorist more than they already are!!!

That was back in April, didn't go ahead with the planned increase. It has been going up in the last few weeks though. Could see it being £1.50 before too long

as much as i hate them, the french have the right idea. if they dont like something the whole country goes on strike

since i've been driving (1997) fuel has gone up by about 80p per ltr

in fact, i've just found this

Will be interesting to see what happens here.

A month or so ago the prices dropped in general from around 1.39 p/l to around 1.30 p/l.

Now its gone back up to around 1.35 p/l as a general rule and i see alot of stations!

Thankfully work increased my mileage allowance from 25p per mile to 35p per mile so im making a slight profit on my car again which is nice.

By last week's driving, i drove 940 miles and made £329 in fuel LOL

Going to be so p**sed if they put it up to 1.50 p/l......utter joke. As if people havent got it hard enough in this financial climate

f**king disgusting really. it was only about a month ago when oil was very cheap to buy per barrel. It came down at the pump about 2p. now its hiked back up nearly 20 percent in the past month from a very low price so it sky rockets at the pump.

when it goes down it makes f**k all difference to us but as soon as it starts creaping back up they nail us all over again.

The s**t is about to hit the fan in every sense of the word.

I'm lucky as well but I get 40p per mile with one job and 45p with another
It'll come to a point where I'm making a loss at this rate though!

No, 45p is the maximum they CAN pay. They can pay you whatever they like. If they pay you 45p its only for the first 10k per year. After that its 25p iirc.

You can only earn so much in expenses per year tax free before they start taxing you on it basically....

You can claim the difference back against tax though. In my last job I got 25p per mile but have just received 500 quid back from the tax man for the tax i had paid. on the other 20p. Had to fill out a P85

Furry muff. My old boss was a w**ker and was only paying us 20p. Had a chat with our accountant one day who said that the hmrc pay back 40p a mile so he was cashing in on 20p a mile from us.
Soon changed after we all stormed his office! We never did over 10k a year though business.

I am surprised it is not over £1.50 a litre now tbh. It rose quite sharply at the beginning of this year and looked if it go past £1.50 mark then.

And the middle east is not exactly stable political wise at the moment.

Weather it be fuel duty or political issues it was going to happen regardless.

Still cheaper than a litre of Red Bull though...............

I wonder if a 6 could be made to run on Red Bull? Then we could buy the cheaper 'Blue Bolt' variety and save a packet!

Ive got a job interview in St Albans next week Stuwee, at a place called Meteor Communications, looks promising Smile
