I got some of the above studs, i bought the nuts from here http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=4648 these ones are for the C5's with washers to protect them. The flat ones are around the same price.

Daver6 I will take some if you do, will be very handy these to fit the wheels over the Brembos, I had to be so careful not to mark the paint on them.

I'll spec up some material costs at work
Smile

heat-treating and plating costs too, though I'm not sure they'd warrant heat treating, we only have pugs, not big yankee trucks or something :p

I'll investigate this further, but is this guy getting rolled threaded studs made up?

I'm just concerned about the intended use, track use, fair enough, screw cut studs would be okay without too much worry, but on the public road, I wouldn't want to use anything weakened :/

Mtec are a good company, their workmanships well up to strength and they supply a lot of bits for our BRISCA F1, all their stuff is well up to the task!

Incase you don't know the BRISCA F1's are 750bhp 1400 kg stock cars where full contact is permitted

They'll handle a little 306 no problem

Anyone know which particular stud length you need for cyclones (60mm, 80mm, 100mm etc)

But did anyone actually have an answer to the OP?

60mm will be more than enough for cyclones and they run flat faced nuts not tapered Thumbs up

High tenstile most likely means 10.9 which isnt good enough for the track and as above i have a set of them and are very good quality.

Ask what rating they are, i hate it when adds say high tensile with no numbers.

The Ben Hur look is in at the moment. I may get some M12 threaded rod from work and make some, I think it will look amazing, plus it will stop you curbing the wheels LOL

Also, has anyone heard or had one of these cheap jobies from Ebay snap on them. I mean during usage? Bolts go all the time being taken off. I mean the bolts that you get with the Peugeot's are made of some alloy of lead and cheese and snap at the drop of a hat. That along with the fact that I have never heard of a wheel coming off a car with twenty year old wheel nuts, surely new 10.9 rated steel is enough to keep the wheel on, especially since if it is direct fit then the pressure is only clamping the wheel to the hub so not dealing with direct forces?

that's the point, the cheap ones are total unknown, the quality varied a lot, threads generally pretty crap and I have seen many gall and cross, if I ever go studs it'll be these or direct to peugeot or citroen sport.

I've had a few different sorts. Down to getting some with different hubs I bought and also buying some linger ones when needed. I've never had any problem witht any of them, and I've just bought some new 100mm studs from rally nuts. They seem the best made, with the end making it easy to get the.nuts on in a hurry.

Why 100mm, that seems awfully long? Any recommendations on the nuts, I've seen some that are two piece that come with a brass insert on the nuts that can be replaced, it acts as a washer I assume. Are these the boys to go for, or the coppered steel nuts instead?

Those AI Tech ones aren't cheap though are they, once you factor in wheel nuts aswell your at £150! After some thought though, I've come to the realisation that I always do: When your talking about one of the few parts that holds the car to the road, why scrimp and save. Get the best and never have to worry about it again. Roll on next payday!
