Give it a go you might find it works especially as you have a lightened flywheel to help you along.

Looking good mate, both of them. Looks like you are missing your front splitter on the 6 though, If you still got that laguna one it might be worth throwing it on. Ive been driving around without one since 2009! only fitted it last weekend Thumbs up

Welcome to the club!

Entire front bumper off the 1.8 is going on. Car had a front end respray a year ago complete with a brand new bumper. Unfortunately someone in a Alfa reversed into it and cracked it but I've fixed that now. (think he thought I was going to hit him when he came out of his house and I was reading the note he was holding. Came out with his baby firmly in front of him!)

Where did the 1.8 rust?

Welcome.

At the end of the chassis leg where it meets the subframe. Some idiot had jacked it up there previously and it had caved in. I didn't notice at the time but it had split the two bits of box section apart letting all sorts of crap in!

That was the worse side. I did have arguments with the mot station as they failed the other side in the same place and that was just surface rust I could pick off with my hands. I could of fixed that quite easy but there was other problems with the car leaving me about a £500 repair bill so was time for a change!

that is a very common place for 306's to rot.

Hmmm. It was picked up in the last mot but problem was is it had rotted behind the underseal so it looked fine. I'm a bit gutted because it has a freshly rebuilt engine it in (first proper engine build I had done) and I only did about 150 miles on it!

Yeah wasn't too bad. He quoted me £130 to do both sides but as I said, there were a few other issues so was time to move on. Sold the rebuilt engine to a mate who is potentially bolting a turbo on it Big grin
