Just signed up on here. Been reading for ages but thought I better pay up!
Been a 306 owner for 2 years now but only just got into a 6. Been on .net for 2 years and OC since day one so some of you here may know me.

Did have a 1.8 XS

It started burning oil so had a full engine rebuild then failed its mot on epic rust and emissions (ECU and coil pack packed up - what 1.8s do best)
Unfortunately it's now being broken but I'm now the proud owner of a 6 at last!

Payed 1500 for it. On 73k, full pug history till 69k, all keys with it and all the original paperwork. Only problems are a oil leak (being fixed tomorrow), speedo sensor died and a few tiny parking dents. Love it
Anyway thats me!

I've actually sold them. They weren't in great condition (well went bad but I'm a perfectionist). I'm buying some new masks after fcs when I have some money.
Unfortunately having to buy a car so close to fcs and swap all my parts over is costly! Already had to do cambelt and full service seeing as there was no history for it. That cost me 160 in parts!

Haha wondering how long it would be before someone mentioned that

This is the 3rd pug I've owned now and they have all been really reliable except for the release bearing going on my 1.8 8 days after I got it Sad
I'm impressed with the performance of the gti and love the 6 speed box but the 1.8 was actually quicker to 20 than the gti! But then again that could just be my s**tty driving haha

Looking good mate, both of them. Looks like you are missing your front splitter on the 6 though, If you still got that laguna one it might be worth throwing it on. Ive been driving around without one since 2009! only fitted it last weekend Thumbs up

Welcome to the club!

I know what you mean, the 0-20 acceleration for the 6 really lets it down. I've been embarrassed at the lights so many times by lesser cars. Sad

There just seems to be that split second when you floor it on the accelerator where nothing happens in the 6 isnt there?

Its a strange one, then it bursts into life and starts moving.

I remember my 1.8 meridian being far more repsonsive when moving onto the throttle.

Anyone know why that is?
