I found a place on ebay in Jan this year selling refurbished ones for £57. Look just like brand new and work perfectly. Can't remember company name offhand but I've posted on here about it or just do ebay search.

Had to return old ones to get back £15 surcharge.

You can do if you're lucky enough. Wink

Thanks all, had a go at trying to get it out and snapped a tool in it. Decided to go for the refurbished one off ebay in the end.

Doh

Once the Easy Out snaps, it is so difficult to do anything due to the hardness of the tool. Yes

You could start a business with that mate, charging people to remove snapped caliper bleed nipples. Yes

LOL

You managed to find time to build a state of the art slide hammer though!

And lower strut braces... LOL
I do those during my lunch and the slide hammer was 10 hours worth but I justified that by saying we need it at work... Whistle

Soak the nipple in some battery acid, dissolves the steel but leaves the ally threads intact.

Takes ages though. And you don't want to get it on your hands...

That is the firm I used. Speedy service and good product.

Ref paint I've previously used Hammerite and it worked OK, though does chip. Now I'm planning to use Bilt Hamber Electrox primer with a good quality enamel 'metal paint' over the top, in my case Blackfiars QD90 Metal Paint. I'd scuff the metal up a bit with wet and dry and clean thoroughly before applying.

Snapped a bleed nipple a few years ago on the rear caliper. Just went down to my local engineering place and tapped and drilled a new thread, used a bleeder to get any fragments out and used a bleed nipple the next size up. ECP last I checked did a new one for under a hundred with the old one as a return.
