Fouling the reservoir

The more I look the more I realise the res needs to move elsehwere which won't be worth the hassle.

Still don't get how Sparco can sell it as S16/XSI if all 306's use the same res Dunno All the ones I've looked at seem the same. Gonna try it on my mates Ph3 at some point but I suspect it will be the same.

Won't be able to go near it till next weekend now.

Time will tell or I may just put it down to experience.

I'd say send it back and get one that's known to fit and uses all 3 bolts

I just meant you were probably correct, if the item description isn't right then I could send back. If i'd got from the bay then i definately would but didn't get it from there.

Tuoche referred to your agrument being correct.

I don't really agree with that as such, I definitely felt the difference after I fitted mine. Yes

Interesting, I thought the E-tech ones were for show? I have no knowledge to back this up, but have heard it from a few people.

Definitely like the feel that my E-Tech gives. Yes

And it was noticeable from the first time I drove it hard after it was fitted....
As for it being for show only, it does have the added advantage that it looks nice too. Smile

The Sparco catalog doesn't list either of the 306 braces as having been tested on RHD models. If the other one does fit then it's a lucky coincidence, not by design.

Good point Rich - Also, your strut brace is listed for an "S16" which in Europe is a '6' but obviously LHD...
You would probably find it fits one over there, just not a UK version...

That makes sense lads I must admit I never thought of that.

I should have though - My mate and I had a 6 engine in an old 309 track car we had. The master cylinder was about 3mm from the top of the engine( had to change the fluid after every trackday cos it was boiling). I met a french guy who was with one of the Pug Eccosse lads at one track day and they were looking at the install.

When we explained the issue he said they didn't have that problem over there because the brake servo and cylinder were on the other side.

That sounds like the answer.

Need to get it on french egay then ehLOL

Ok I went to th scrappy today and found a reservoir that off a 406 that looked like it would sort things out. It was shorter but deeper and should have provided enough cleareance to get the strut brace on.

What about trying a different scrappy or asking Pug how much a 406 reservoir is?

Still that brace is a strange design. Why the 3 holes next to each other, but it only fits 2 of the 306 bolts?

But it is the closest to a decent brace I've seen - the OMP one is too heavy (no need to use steel except for cost reasons) and the E-Tech one too flimsy and I don't like the pivot bolt design which is not rigid enough IMO. I got a cheap OMP copy (Raceland) design and I was thinking of cutting it up and making a alloy cross member held on with bolts onto the mounts either side.

Still toying with the idea of using a different res or even a remote one. There is another thread where someone used vx220 parts on a 205 master cylinder to run a remote res.

I think all the parts cost about £10 or something.

I feel a weekend of experimenting coming on.

Stan your probably right but i don't have the cash to buy another at the moment.

I'll have a bash this weekend , if it looks like its gonna be too much bother then I'll buy another one when funds allow.Thumbs up

The more I think about it the one a had my eye on might have come off a citreon zx , back to the scrappy tomorrow.

Looking at the pics the two extra holes are directly above where there are wee holes where i can see holes/ grommets in the suspension top mount. Could maybe put a nut and bolt through there for added fixing.

IF i can get it on in the first place LOL
