Hi there

Been a 306 fan for a while. Have an S16 as a daily getting to and from work.

Have just purchased a 1998 nile blue gti6 as a project car. Have big plans.

The gti6 following in Melbourne is small unfortunately as only around 200 gti6s came to Australia!

Looking forward to joining in the forum talk as I have a few technical issues I would like to discuss.

Thanks in advance! Thumbs up

Haha at the pic, good to see you guys have a good sense of humor!

You forgot mate at the end owain Razz.

In relation to car plans I want to restore to original with a few handling and engine mods. I see some of you blokes have blower kits on your gti6, that seems interesting.

It is suck a shame for a lack of parts we have here is Aus!

Even though the amount of 6s we have is small here in Melbourne, the following is strong! I'm hoping to learn a great deal on here, I want to post in the techincal forum, so I assume I just pay the membership fee to do that?

Yes, i am now handling all membership enquiries and transanctions since the new forum was established which you probably may not be aware of. But yes sure, just PM me and we can get your membership sorted, its only £39.99 but that gives you full access for 4 years

As Roland Rat says the £5 option is what you need to purchase and then you can post in every section...Thumbs up

Billyboy99, you are not in charge of anything on this forum let alone membership fees considering you haven't even purchased any yourself! Please refrain from giving new members false information. Angry

Kind Regards.

Welcome mate, if you go to the home page at the bottom is the membership link, you can pay there and have access to all the technical sections. There's also a lot of knowledge on here about supercharging etc.

Welcome Wave

I spent a year in Aus but more up and around Brisbane/GC.

I even looked into costs of shipping my 6 out there because they were so rare and expensive!

Did the Rallye (The proper Rallye) ever make it out to Australia?

All good, signed up now. Don't mind paying at all.

Yeah jimmy_boy they are very rare and pricey here! The proper Rallye never made it here to Australia. I've looked into importing one from the UK, but it seems very pricey. It is a shame.

danposs86, I don't live far at all from Coburg, only a few suburbs away haha. What were you doing in Melbourne town anyway?

Miss ladybell, best colour out!

Need to learn how to add multiple quotes!

With the weakness of the pound there has never been a better time to do it, but it depends on the other costs I suppose.

What would it actually cost?

Maybe around AU$3000 to ship the car from the UK, with it being worth only about AU$3000 to buy there shouldn't be too much duty? Then Aussie quarantine cleaning all the nasty UK creepy crawlies LOL LOL from every nook and cranny for a couple of hundred bucks, and then road registration.

The car would owe you about AU$7000. What would it actually be worth in Aus? Being one of a kind out there it could be difficult to say.
