I would be interested in one of these if the heater can stay. Had a go of my mates 106 gti yesterday and the gear change just feels so much better. No play in the stick, just feels solid Cool

I'm technically minded and can work out where some bits go but have a feeling it's going to be worse than building Ikea furniture lol

not fitted mine yet but Dave did give me a template, though once youve got the quadrant bolted on the subframe you'll get a decent idea where to attack the bulkhead with the hole cutter.

two i's in Meirion BTW Razz

Failed at the first hurdle lol
So I have put the mou ting plate in position and put the bracket with the eye end under the car for the gear rod to connect to however the eye end sits way to high up and won't allow the change rod to meet up to the eye end even with the rod hard up against the exhaust tunnel heat shields!

Do I have to lengthen the eye end to match the rod?

I thought this would be the easy bit and then I could work out the bellcrank end from this Sad

Doesn't that bit go in the car not underneath?

edit: forget that, I might be thinking of earlier versions

I would assume it doesn't, being the lower pivot point and the gear stick goes through the hole in the exhaust tunnel with the boot on the inside

Well I have sent pics etc to Colin so hopefully all will become clear soon, still can't work out where the bellcrank attaches to and the 2 thin stays go!

This is the template he sent me for cutting the hole in the bulkhead lol no point of reference!!!

A few pictures of the one they manufactured the kit on would have been a massive help

The rose joint that you say about lengthening, it is adjustable, but if it is set too long then stick will foul the hole which it passes through as the pivot centre will be too low.. The thing is, the kit is designed for race use and the heat shields arent used, are you able to trim/form the shield to help it fit? You look to have everything else in check though.

I should think a slot cut in the heatshield would work right?

Not had chance to try mine, how is access for the holesawing?

Na it's pretty tight up to the exhaust tunnel!

I haven't cut the bulk head yet, that's tomorrows job if I get round to it! My dash is out so I might do it from the I side!

Some of the stack ups are incorrectly slaved together which confused me for a bit.

The two stays on the pivot post need to go under the bellcrank rather than on top (that's how it's slaved together)

On the selector rod that goes under the car, at the engine bay end on the upright the swivel bolt and adjustable rod are on the front face and need to be on the rear as it hits the gearbox casing
