My old man was going to get rid if his targa when he got the db7 bit couldn't bring himself to, it's away for a paint tidy up then back into storage only does dry miles!

stick a proper engine in the scort and it'll sell very easily (i.e the non turbo version of that same engine ! )

Car has been listed on pistonheads for two hours now and already had three interested people in it. Both intend to rallye it as is.

Two of them rate the engine as the better lump for them: dunno

hate to say it but pull it from pistonheads and re list it at 20k!!!! bargain of the century if its not rusted. Mk1s are still fetching mental money.

And love the targa but check the inner sills and rear floor before you moth ball....3-4k to put right if they are rotten and uk cars are known for it. Miss my old 911.... still under a sheet in lake havasu!!!!

I am a huge fan of classic Porsche, I would LOVE a flatnose 911. That looks stunning dude, you've done really well. That Mk1 Escort is something else!!! Ive got serious car envy.

The Porsche is more or less pristine as it had a part resto about three years ago, the escort is raw and needs a few bits to make mint so I would rather keep the Porsche, I also have all the peugeots so space is the limiting factor.

A link to the escort ad, a few new photos to

Have you thought about listing it on passionford.cOm? Loads of mk1 enthusiasts on there. PistOnheads does attract a lot of tossers. There is also a old skool ford meet at santa pod in a few weeks or sooner

Im not sure how a great looking Porsche can be a 'strange' exchange, more like a super great part exchange lol. Great cars though, i get to drive my dads every so often, its a 2005 year.

I used to have one of those Mk1 escorts in yellow years ago, i'm not personally keen on the colour of yours though. I'd keep the Mk1 escort tbh, they are increasingly going up in value every year and is worth the investment by keeping it mate. The porsche can be insured via classic so it could be around the £200 mark to insure.

EFA

Duratec's are lighter and are more capable. Oh and they won't cost the price of the car when/if they go pop either Smile

It's a strange part ex as the guy bought a 90bhp land rover defender and part ex,d a near on 300 bhp Porsche, totally different ends of the scale me thinks.

Insurance isn't an issue as its on the trade policy, problem is I now have 6 personal cars so something has the give.

Carl LOL

Its not all that strange with the price of fuel these days LOL

Personally i would not sell the MK1 Escort, when i sold mine years ago it was just before they went up in price big time, i'm sure it would reach 20k in about 5 or so years time. It looks really mint as well.

If you still have the BMW hair dressers car, why not get rid of that one instead ?

I regret selling mine now, you might feel the same in a few years time. Did you put a lot of work into it over the years ?

LOL hair dressers car, that thing does 55mpg and is a car for the bird and us when we are out as a family, my daughter loves it, only started using it last week as just taxed it. Great car.

Just needs a set of springs and a nice set of wheels, csl lookalikes??

I had a dream last night that I bought an old 911 in Red, and whilst cleaning it I thought, 'cool, this will rival Mechanical Repairs!' And then I noticed it had some accident damage to the front left. I was like 'damn, didnt see this, cant put this in the photo'. Then on even closer inspection I realised the whole left hand side of the car was made from fabric and stickers were used as the windows. I was gutted!

Never buy an old 911 for 1k thats for sure!
