Straight through on N/A No in my opinion. Destroys the low down torque when I got rid of mine and put a jetex on there it felt like it had a lot more low down power. Which is more important for a road car.

Have you done the old rev to 5-6k and blip the throttle trick to see if it will get it moving?

I had decat plus standard exhaust.and induction was good low down on rev range.
I now have a decat powerflow car back but need to get smaller silencer in the middle section to get it poping.

Two of my mates who have gti 6 s one with decat+straight thru+backbox.second has decat+tiny middlebox section+ backbox.booth pop an bang very differently,2 is constantly poping, flames on throttle let of,1 literally bangs like a drum once loudly then fades with smaller pops and bangs

I only have to drive mine, even if I'm just poodling along I can back off and then the popping starts.

It kind of goes along the lines of pop, pop....pop, pop, BANG!
Has always done this, and I think it sounds awesome. Big grin

whilst driving it, let the revs start dropping then blip the throttle.

I must admit, when going through mountain terrain or tunnels etc, the noise bouncing back at you when the driver's window is down is fantastic. Thumbs up

On standard mapping I expect the fuel amount is very little when coasting in gear without throttle hence no/little unburnt fuel getting to the exhaust. Carbs on the other hand will still be supplying fuel as the engine is sucking it in under vacuum.

i had my decat for all of 3 days. Was from tip top exhausts near spaghettit junction (full custom ss from scratch in 30mins for 200 notes). I only got pops after very high rev gear changes. Anything else more than this is a sign of overfueling/unburnt fuel in exhaust. Which can burn valves etc etc.

This.

After fitting a nicely coked up de-cat with my magnex, it used to pop and bang all the time. Just a shame I got fed up with the boomyness of the magnex.

Don't seem to get any pops and bangs with my Jetex. Sad

I believe thats one of reasons mine is so prolific. I bought my decat new at the start of 2005 so its had plenty of use and time to get coked up. Cool

Mattyrallye has a customised longlife now and pops bangs and flames. But it didnt really do it with old 3" magnex so the exhaust must make some difference.

I'm not sure if anyone read this. My car never popped or banged with the magnex de cat and full 3" system. Now I have a custom zorst married to a magnex de cat i can't stop it. Flames and bangs. also think devil decats produce more bangs.

My argument, zorst really makes the diff.
