How can u tell if a timing belt is to tight?

Mine don't squeal it just whines I thought it was because it was to tight

It makes a wining noise when the engine running. Take the belt cover off and twist the belt between thumb and forefinger on the longest un supported side of the belt, if u can twist the belt more than 90 degrees it too loose, if u can't twist it 90 degrees it too tight. Hth.

Turn engine off before removing belt cover and checking tension
