What do you think its worth Ratty??

4k ish

I have been looking at the prices, I bought it trade (through work) about 4 months ago. There are some crap examples in the low £4k's but this is not one of those, it has full leather, winter pack, Monza's, new cambelt and waterpump, common failing turbo pipe replaced etc etc

I was going to put it up at £4995 for a quick sale or give it to a mate to put on his VW forecourt as a 'p/x to clear'

With the amount of work you have put into every aspect of that car, I would imagine the right offer would be a long way up my scale....... rough idea??

dont want to ruin the sale or any negotiations thus far but how can someone really justify spending £8k on a SC-6 when there are so many other cars out there you could buy with that kind of money.

good luck anyway but this dragon is out

A car is worth what someone will pay for it. There are a lot of alternatives out there if that's what you want but then the running costs and insurance get a lot more expensive.

I know I will never get back what my car owes me in mods so when the time comes I will break it and sell the shiny bits Yes

I think for most of us who own them we've built them over time, i could never have gone out and bought a car for £10-12K but to build my Rallye was easier as i bought parts as and when i could afford them even though the costs have mounted up i've not noticed it as it wasn't a big out lay

If its the right car, it doesn't matter Billy! I am not planning on outlaying 8-10k straight away but rather a lower amount then put my personal touch into it! Simons car for example is mintos and the work he has put into it make it worth the figure he wants, however getting someone else to pay that is another matter because its not everyones personal taste......

There are always exceptions to the rule, if you pay over the odds for something you later find to be faulty then of course it is'nt worth what you paid. Decent low boost SC-6's are anywhere around the 4-8K mark depending on spec condition and what the buyer wants to stump up, just like anything else for sale really.

yeah thats fine but my point is still a 6 is a great choice if your budget it under 2k. if your budget is £8k you could do alot better. that is all.

I get your point but with that Rallye it's more an issue of the car not being in the condition it was described when sold.

Im looking at a 6 in the higher price range because you get a lot of car for your money IMO! The only thing thats lacked in either of my 6's was power and speed. If I have £5k to spend for example, this is a good investment because its such a good drivers car and shouldn't lose too much money being that I bought it ready done!

Yeah, decent though maybe not! I understand what your saying and all logic agrees with you. However, I have a huge soft spot for 6's and everything I drive just makes me want another! I can fix things myself, I know them very well etc!

The main problem in my eyes is that I don't know what i'm looking at, for example failed crank sensor = £650 bill inc new cambelt. Turbo pipe = £118. If a crank sensor had gone on the 6 (which it did ages ago) I know how to do it. Cheap easy motoring with todays power figures and better handling Wink

I need something fun, not just fast!
