What shall i say, i am completely f**king tired after this long day. Was a nice trip up there with my cousin and the weather was lovely all day long. When we got to the terminal in Dover Carl was already busy unloading the car. Pictures from the collection/delivery are on my camera, and i'll put them up tomorrow.

The way back then, i was scared as s**t to go above the 4k rpm line with all the running in of the charger thing. You feel there is more power in that thing, but the 15year old cat really kills the thing as when you are giving it some banter and shift in the next gear you feel that the car can not release all the exhaust gases that are produced in the higher rev range.
another thing is that once you start putting this kind of money in a car like this you'll start saying well now that the engine is done i cant leave the door cards looking like s**t and every inperfection of the car starts to bother you. Something like a vicious circle LOL

Here some pics as they do much more talking than my lame sentences. The wheels on it look f**king ace Cool Dont you agree???

Thirsty motherf**ker

This is the type of cars it will be around with most of the time, I hope the new exhaust and cat will finally unleash the beast within the 6 's engine bay as the way it is now it is not really enjoyable.

I'm of to bed Fellas have to be up early for tomorrow's work

Cheers

And finally back in it's own bed Big grin

Right tomorrow the brakes and the 2,5" exhaust will be going on. Also the car needs a bloody good clean inside out, specially inside. Once that's all been done i'll be making some nice pictures with my Sony NEX C3.
Carl i'll send you a pm or mail tomorrow morning mate Wink

I would love to show you some pics of the new stoppers fitted and the new exhaust but, often things dont go as smooth as you'd expect Sad

Here is the new ceramic sprts cat welded to the original downpie.

Unfortunately as this is a cat back system the mounting piece on the center silencer box is not in 2,5"

Our local parts shop had no suitable exhaust parts available, and to order some will take about 1 week, due to today being a bank holiday Sad
Also what do you fellas recognize would be the best way to join the cat to the center silencer? the cat outlet is more like 68mm instead of 63mm (=2,5"Wink.

My mate who will install the above said i would need one of these to make it a neat job
https://www.powersprint.eu/Auspuff-Bauteile/Kompensator/Kompensator-65-mm.html
But they are f**king expensive. What do you guys think??? Will i have to bite the bullet??

Cheers

What size is the centre pipe threw middle box?

I would be looking at welding a piece of pipe onto centre box, with a normal clamp joint to slide over the rear pipe from catThumbs up

Bugger that's annoying, I would remove the but joint from the original cat and have that fitted to the new piece, that way at least you can remove it when you get your tuv approval???

Sent you an email mate so have a look when you get five. also thinking of planning the ring trip soon so would be nice to see you over there again.Love

cheers, Carl

63 will be the size of the bore on the tube and 68 is the outside diameter at a guess?

Update time,

So I've had the car for about 2 weeks now. Can't say I drove it very much to be honest, about a 1000km. Now that the car has the engine sorted out, everything else seems to start braking, which is f**king annoying. The door loom for instance... drove the car for about 1,5 year now prior to getting it up to the UK. The door loom already seems to have been repaired, and after having repaired mine on the diabolo a few years back and leaving almost a 100€ at my local stealer for a new plug, it looks like i'll have to do that part again. And i am really not looking forward to that.

However, yesterday we set about putting the new exhaust as well as the stoppers on the ol girl so basically going from this

To this Cool

One thing i have to say about these is how easy everything just bolts on without any big modifications needed. The CitroenSport fitting kit is great as well. However all didn't went without drawbacks, my front brake lines which i got made and are supposed to be even 3 cm longer than the standard were actually shorter than the original ones Thumbs down so i'll have to get back to the brake line company that made them as for 150€ i expect them to be spot on.

In the end we routed them behind the damper instead of in front of it as otherwise they would stretch to much on full turn.

The wheels for instance did not clear the brakes Shock After all the research i had done on here and on the french forums, no one ever told me i would need spacers. So when we found out i was f**king shocked to say the least. Thankfully my brother still had some spacer lying at home somewhere from his blaze 6. After a long search i found them and the wheels could be mounted Big grin

I am currently beading them in, however the pedal feels very different to the standard brakes as the pedal has to be pushed much further for the brakes to break. After i have beaded them in we'll bleed them once again as i think there might still be a little air in the front right caliper.

Then we got to the exhaust

Not to much pictures about fitting this, but i imagine you guys know what that looks like. The old exhaust was in a pitiful state. With the new system the car feels much nicer... no more annoying rattles and booming exhaust sound at 4k rpm. Just a nice yet sporty sound coming from it. The fitment of these Simons (or Jetex over there who the f**k cares) exhausts is perfect. No need to wiggle and play around for the back box to fit nicely in the rear bumper cut out. Just put it on and off you go.

I dont quite understand what a lot of people on here dislike about the tail pipe, i think it looks f**king awesome Dunno

After all the work had been done, i could not be arsed to put the oil catch tank on her, as i still neded a piece of oil line and a smal breather filter, so that will be put on the car when i have bought the missing pieces.
Then i put some fuel in it and i went about testing the new exhaust and brake set-up. The sound of the car is great and not ovely loud which is exactly what i wanted. The ceramic sport cat seems to work well, even thou after a few very spirited sprints the back part of the cat was already glowing red Unsure Don't know if that's a good sign or not Shock but i am over all impressed with it as the car now also runs much steadier on idle than it did before.

The net thing on the list is have a look at the lambda sensor, as i think it might be f**ked and it did look like it had taken quite some exhaust gasses. This morning the "warning" light next to the Airbag light (the one that looks like an engine) came on briefly. Also the car performs very different every other day. Last friday i had a nice go with my mate in his TTRS and he was amazed about how well the 6 was performing, while yesterday it was really not as fast as usual Dunno Do you guys think it could be down to the lambda sensor? Any advice welcome as usual

Right now we are going to sort out all the rest of the little niggles before getting it RR'ed and then bring her to Germany for the TüV approval. I hope all goes well.

Cheers and thanks for looking

Starting to look the part mate, as you drive on the wrong side do you want me to cut you a loom off from a scrapper here and bring that with a host of parts for you, as its the passenger side to us they are usally fine, should save you some cents? I have also dug you out some new rallye blanks now so can bring them too.

Tis looking good.

Regards the engine light coming on now and then does the car sound funny and run lumpy when the light is on, this maybe to a coil pack breaking down which can be common it happened on my rallye and brought the light on which is unusual as normally that doesn't effect the engine light, may explain the cat getting hot to.

Yes i ran lumpy when the light came on. Do you think it is a coil pack? Also the car smells funny since i put the new exhaust on. You don't think the lambda may need changing? As she performs differently every now and then. One day she goes like hell and the other day she is like lazy Crazy

Ah yes you may be right about that. Get me your part number for the loom you need and I will see what I can do.

I don't think the lambda is playing up, it wasn't when I was driving around but a quick code read should give you a definite answer regards a coil pack tho, do you have dome spares? When does it start to go lumpy etc once it gets warm?

I take it you means coils?

Sounds to me you have a coil braking down once its getting warm.

pm me your address etc, I will sort and send 4 spares over plus a few bits I have of yours, ie the k&n bracket, scoop, touch up paint and pulley.
