Hi all just a quick one for those in the know.

I currently run falken ze912s and have found them faultless. I'm now due a tyre change and my local tyre man recommended accelera. They are cheaper than the falken which is good as I'm bloody skint at the moment!

Anyway my question is has anyone heard of this brand and are they any good because I would never put shiti rubber on my motor.

Currently I can get the ze912s for £65 a corner and the
acceleras for £45 a corner. Will te price difference reflect the quality?

Thanks in advance

matt

fooking w*nk, had them on my ZX all round when I bought it.

the only reason your tyre man will reccomend them is that they have a much better profit margin, and you'll wear them out quicker than a half decent tyre.

the falkens are damn cheap for a reasonable tyre, I'm guessing by those prices you run 55's not 50's, if your really sking then chuck some 50's on it.

I got a pair of part worn Michelins for my car for £6.50 off ebay, they had 4mm on them! well worth checking what part worns you can find.

I have them in 204/40 r17's on my 306, they're ok for the price. can be a bit livly in the wet sometimes. 8.5/10 in the dry about 7/10 wet.

I've used a few, used bridgestone potenza's which were about the same IMO. Used goodyears which were shite in the wet. only bought them cos they were cheap and i needed 4 of them and didnt have much cash to spend. If i'd had the cash at the time i would've picked up some rainsport 2's.

I run 50's so that price is for the 50 profile. As said I can't fault the ze912s but after what you have said there is no way in using the acceleras!

Thanks fo the info I may loom at the part worn option to Big grin

Matt if you're after 50's get some Uniroyal rainsport 2's from a online dealer, you can find them for £36 a tyre.

Very highly rated.

http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Uniroyal/Rainsport-2.htm

Then have somewhere fit and balance them for cheap. You can save yourself £50 by doing it this way.

JD motors fitted my two part worns and balanced them for £15. Smile

Why don't you just search for the info? There are loads of opinions on tyres kicking about. Do you honestly believe that a tyre from a brand you've never heard of will be any good? FWIW the ones you've mentioned are both complete shit. Stick with the Falkens if you like them, or go Michelin PE2 / Conti / F1 / Rainsport 2.

There is also something called Google which is useful when looking at different tyre types. Loads of reviews, but be careful as few are done with performance in mind.

My final bit of advice is to sack off your current tyre suppliers as they obviously haven't got a clue Thumbs up

Ah at last. I knew you were actually full of useful/helpful info Big grin

I didn't use search as I had shite 3G reception and the same for google plus my phone screen Is smashed so its difficult to see what I'm looking at.

I have now had a look on google upon my return home and your above info is accurate so many thanks. As Said though because I'm skint I went with the part worn nankang nsport 2s which have a pretty good review. they have 6mm tread and I got them for £21 each.

Oh and you never know I might even suck your cock for a brand new set of ze912s Laugh my ass off

You're paying £65 for 195/50 ze912s? That's pretty expensive, even if it includes fitting. They're ~£36 on blackcircles/camskill, although if you can get hold of the uniroyals for the same price they'd probably be the best choice

*edit* i see you went with the ditchfinders in the end then LOL

I understand being skint and all that, but there must have been another part worn option available than the infamous Ditchfinders?

Laugh my ass off

Very true ash! But the current tyres are still pretty meaty but I found a screw in one of them which is too close to the side wall to repair.

I would have bought 2 newbies but due to having to pay my years insurance and tax this month along with bills it kinda left me broke Dry

I would much rather had put the ze912s on as they are a great tyre but hey what the hell for what i paid for the part warns I may aswell abuse them aye? Big grin

Uniroyal Rainsports are very good tyres for road driving, and our climate! One word though, they need at least 30 miles of driving before they settle in.......and i aren't kidding! Once they bed in though they're great tyres, impressive wet grip......as you can imagine!

They aren't bad. Not as good as the PE2 imo, but stiffer sidewall.
