(Sorry about the massive pics, really cba to re-size them! LOL )

Well, been around here for ages now and not really posted many pics of the '6, so figured it was about time to start a bit of a project thread and post up some pics of the current ride and show you all a bit of what I've done since I've had it.

So it's a 2000, (originally) W reg GTi 6 in China blue.
Currently sat on around 113k with a documented head rebuild at 80k.

Bought it with the following mods already done,

17" O.Z Superleggaras
4 pot fiat coupe brembos with 305mm drilled and grooved discs and ferodo ds2500 pads
Grooved discs at the back, braided lines all round
Longlife stainless cat and mid section and scorpion back box
BMC DDA induction kit
OMP strut brace
De-locked doors
Lowered on AVO springs
Apex dampers on rear
Griffiths engineering shortshift
Billet lightened flywheel

This is how she looked when I got her:

A few little bits came first such as debadging the rear, aero wipers and some seat covers to protect the half leathers. I also fitted my sound system that had been in my Dtub.

Debadged:

The sound system:

It stayed like this for a bit while I was at uni, and then a few months after I got it I decided my overdraft was definitely better off looking like this:

With this started my new colour theme. Yellow.
So before fast show last year the brakes got painted up with new black decals put on, and a few yellow bits under the bonnet like the strut brace, along with cleaning some bits up with a lick of black paint:

Then before Trax last year, I decided there was defeinitely too much stuff in my car and that I a big sound system was not the way to go.
So this happened:

And my inlet manifold and cam covers definitely weren't black enough.

A decat also got fitted somewhere along the way too.

This was pretty much it for a fair while, other than general maintenance, cleaning and servicing. She had a full service over christmas and has been running like a dream since.

The next little thing was painting the front badge and the tow eye. Love the tow eye, and I think I like the badge. Well I do, just can't decide if I prefer it standard or not. But not to worry, 'cos I bought a spare to paint so can have either, as it's only a 2min job to swap them over.

Then this weekend just gone I finally got around to fitting the seats that I'd bought way back before Christmas!

And at the same time decided that although stripped is good, I definitely wanted some tunes back! So I dug out my old Type Rs and think they look pretty good in the rear cards that I made. Head unit is now also wired up to take the iPod that I just bought.

So yeah, that's about it to date. I plan to do lots more still, going fully "track" orientated with it, so going to look into lots of suspension upgrades and a roll cage etc.

Comments always welcome Smile

Everything apart from the yellow badge is nice! Cool

Didn't brave going for yellow wheels too? LOL

Edit: actually, looking back I think I prefer the look of the 'leggaras. Not a big fan of 6 spoked wheels

cheers. i figured the badge would be a sort of marmite mod for people, still not 100% myself, so made sure to keep a standard badge. as for the wheels, yellow? haha, that would be brave, and i expect look crap! as for preferring the O.Z's though?! the comps are the nuts!

cage colour is something i've been debating, i think yellow would maybe be too much? probably go black with a few choic decals onit in yellow. esp as that way the harnesses when mounted on the cage would still stand out.

yeah you would have to tone down the yellow abit if you wanted to fit a yellow cage, could be cool, though

Can you stick up a good picture of the entire car in full shot?

to see in full glory as it stands now?

Dave

A few people have said that, but I far prefer it now! but then it's my car, i would! LOL

and no, you wouldn't have seen it in preston. well, it's unlikely. Preston is where I go to Uni, and i'm a poor student who can't afford to run a gti at uni! so my missus does all the driving round her. So look out for a badass 1.0 corsa! Ninja

ok, so in 2 minutes it can look like your second picture but with white instead of silver wheels?

i said i wasn't sure about the badge, hence why i kept a standard one to pop back on as and when i want to, or if i decide i don't like it. other than that it's fairly unmolested!

but thanks for your comments!

haha, don't worry about it. it was just something i thought about, so picked up a second badge for a few quid and tried it out. definitely still not sure, but it's such a reversible change that i went for it.

however, i do have to say that your china was stunning. i was indeed trying to get the cash together when you sold it...had only had mine 2 months as well!
