I have picked up a non modded Rallye in need of new tyres all round and not really sure what to get. The car will be used mainly for road driving and want tyres that are more predictable when they breakaway, rather than massive grip that gives little clue whats going on through the wheel and seat.

Any suggestions?
Cheers

budget dictates everything fella.

michelin exalto pe2
toyo R1-R

there are alot of good tyres available and everyone has different tastes and opinions
my opinion would be that as were entering the warmer dryer time of year, use a tyre thats not heavily treaded and offers more of a contact patch Yes

About the best you can get in standing water for a road tyre in this fitment imo.

If you after great predictable breakaway then F1 GSD3 used to be the best on road, but the PE2s come close. Run them at slightly higher (2psi) than normal pressure as they have light sidewalls. They are a cracking tyre though - really very good.

I prefer the PE2 to the Eagle F1.

Seem to have a stiffer sidewall and give more feel.

Such as? You'll be hard pressed to get gripper than a PE2 without going to semi slicks.

Just put them on all round and switch front to rear every 5k miles or so to keep the wear even.

I found bridgestone potenza's were really good in 15's too, not too bad in the wet either. uniroyal rainsport 2 are suppose to be great alround too looking at the reviews, i'll be getting them next.
