Now as we all know the rear brakes are never the greatest on the 306.

I melted my OE rear pads at Oulton Park at the weekend, so need new pads and discs.

Is it worth buying DS2500's for the rear at £70 a pop (WTF!) or just getting OE Ferodo or Mintex for about £20.

Given that the first time you brake, they will wear funny and the rear discs rust up and never clean up properly!

I know some people were having problems with the DS2500 on their front pads a while back with them falling to bits etc, was this ever resolved.

And don't suggest Pagid Blues, or anything silly like that, im simply not spending £130+ on a set of rear pads.

that is quite unusual, I'd be rebuilding the calipers and sticking o.e pads in there tbh, with new discs of course.

thing about pagid blues is that they will never need replacing LOL though without some LFB and more rear bias they'll never get particularly warm and wont work well.

Bargain price for those, thanks PM.

So whats the difference between the ones listed for the 205 and the one which says ALL Rear?

All the same caliper design I thought?

Bit of a bump, is that link still correct for rear pads? I'm running standard calipers on the rear.

They're right as far as I'm aware. Try cross referencing the no on camskill, they might be cheaper there Wink

Unless I'm being an idiot, there's no MDB number on Rallydesign's website? The pads I found for a 306 GTi6 on Camskill are £100+...

About to replace my rear discs and pads so debating if it's worth getting uprated ones or not....

They don't really do masses so I don't think its worth it the massive brembos do all the work and make the nose dive and the rears get less effort....

But decent Mintex for £25??

I bought a set in the end from the link above. They look the right design but didn't have as much material on them as I had thought they would. Haven't fitted them to the car as the Greenstuff's in there are in better shape than I thought.

I can grab some photos at the weekend if anyone needs.

They never do have much meat on them, i remember when the 206 gti180 came tound to their first mot's many were being advised, or sometimes even failed, on low brake friction material on the rear.

Purely because it was one of the first cars running those calipers under a 5 spoke 17" wheel, so they were clearly visible for a change, most didnt realise how little material they had from new.

not really, given how little work they do and how long they last.
