ifits fitted correctly and down tight then there would be no air leaks.

Key is in the preparation, making sure that the mateing face on the head and manifold are perfectly clean and have no trace residue of the old paper gasket.

I have fitted a few now and not had any issues with air leaks

It doesn't cause air leaks when fitted, but just to be sure I fitted a standard gasket either side and it works perfectly. Yes

I haven't a clue what your mapper was on about. Dunno

probably doesn't understand the principal or gains of it so was confused.

Ptfe are common on Japanese engined cars , abit like ground earth kits!!

No it was just a case of down time is expensive on the rollers.

True, but the PTFE gaskets do not suffer with air leaks. Wink

I have seen a few cheap and nasty ones that do, on 106's especially.
