slightly off 306 topic, but hopefully someone can point me in the right direction..

It seems (and i can only go on my girlfriends description) that there is an electrical, or perhaps alternator(?) problem. She was driving the other day, when the power steering went heavy, lights dimmed, dash went dull etc, indicating general lack in power, but the there was no change to the engines power?

she arrived at her destination, and later car started ok. im not sure if it continued with the above systems but it didnt have any problems firing.

any thoughts??

Yes you need the car running, put a volt meter on the battery, put load on the battery by putting every electrical item on, lights, wipers, heated rear screen etc and see if the voltage holds up.

Atleast thats how i think its done...

either way does sound like a charging issues, odd though how it still started..
