Am I missing something obvious here but Camskill has these for very cheap compared to blackcircles. I know I'd need someone to fit and balance them but I reckon I could get that done for £20 or so locally. Are they really that bad?

Wrapping PTFE tape round your rims is great for the price, doesn't mean I'd want to rely on it keeping my car on the road Big grin

but i seriously think they are a damn good tyre and half the price if not more than some i have used and think they are better than a few, sidewalls may be a little bit soft but you dont really notice it to much

If you're looking at spending that kind of money then yes, they're probably the best to go for to be fair to them. Annoying really that no-one makes an R888 for £30 a corner.

Except if it's wet. Because then we'd all die.

I think they are a great all round tyre for the price.

Have had them in 55 profile and the sidewall flex is obvious.
50 profile is much better and less flex.
I currently have them in 45 profile on my 16's and can't fault them at all

Yes there are tyres that do a better job in the dry but these are good enough and are also very good in the wet. Thats why I tend to stick with them Smile

I had some Goodyear Eagle NCT5's on a few years back. Dry grip was ok but the wet grip was simply scary!. for a tyre designed for family saloons.
They were actually worse than the P6000's they replaced Shock

Said it before and i'll say it again, Rainsport 2's. More grip than the Toyo in the dry, substantially more in the wet.

rainsports are better but they cost a fair bit more, the op asked because of the cost, and they are a much better tyre than the price would have you think. dont you think?

T1-R's are a real budget tyre these days, I'd be more inclined to spend more tbh, no point skimping on rubber, but I guess for the money they are ok.

Exactly. They're priced like a budget, and for budgets they're not bad.

Rainsports are very good in the wet and dry!

BUT YOU REALLY NEED TO GIVE THEM A GOOD 100 OR SO MILES TO BED IN!

I thought i had a serious issue with ride and handling at first as it wallowed like a boat, until the top layer wore off, then they were grippy as f*ck!

I was told by a tyre place that Michelin Exalto 2's are the best pretty much.......was this chap right?

I've got PE2's now, and they're exactly like my previous Conti's I had on before. I had rainsports on my Hyundai before and hated them, but then that was a much heavier car.

It's almost like if an amazing tyre existed for the price of a budget then we'd all be running them Wink

Of all the tyres I've ever bought, PE2's were far superior to any others, fantastic wet or dry, hot or cold, epic tyre IMO.

Can't say I've had a problem with my T1R-s so far, definitely not as good as the old F1s in the wet, but still pretty good considering they're less than 30 quid a piece! All I can say is the 270° M6 lancaster sliproad can be taken at quite some speed, that's for sure Whistle
