hi all, reet i think its time i want a new setup on my car, i want to keep it the same height but stiffer, i think im getting a fair bit of body roll as seen in the below pic

(taken at come on he Quarry corner)

i have Bilsteins all around on there atm which are about a yr old, been thinking about getting some coilovers, i know im not goin to get really good ones with my budget but i was thinking of these?

only really want to spend around £250 but no more, or are there any other alternatives that you recommend for around £250 and lower 50mm

cheers

Iain

any coilover that side of £600 is going to be a bit poor.

raise the ride height and stick to standard size springs if you can't afford proper suspension.

a hybrid anti roll bar will help.

p.s, that'll be sat on the bumpstops in that pic LOL

but i dont like standard height :p

doesnt have to be coilies tbh, anything that will give a 50mm drop and be slightly stiffer would be good Smile

Get some stiffer springs, As said any cheap coilovers will be worse than you have, Plus dampers do not limit roll
Plus go too low and you;ll bugger up the roll center's anyway and make things worse

Falkner springs (May have spelt it wrong) do custom springs

Or fit a 30mm rear ARB, Yes it means machining or replacing 1 arm shaft but for the money it's a very worthwhile mod

Yes I always have the linkages in stk

keep the dampers Yes

spend the money on a 30mm ARB and machining the shaft to suit. (im sure teh 205 pins work without machining)
Then get some custom springs or progressive of-the-shelf ones with 40mm drop
the current eibach springs you have are too soft, i had same ones and wasent happy with them at all. No

Well as i need a new beam anyway, how much would it be to get the 30mm ARB and the work needed to fit it? Will the arb just make the rear end stiffer? Cheers

Spoox/Ash hybrid.

or just rebuild your beam and fit new shafts (as most need nowadays) and fit the 30mm.

depends what's worn, but in parts anything from £35 to £135 + cost of a donor beam for a crossmember tube, if you're lucky and strike upon a set of decent shafts in a donor beam then you'll save £100.

plus labour of course.
