Started to refresh the sills, i have newer Side Skirts to fit

I plan to use my works Rivnut gun to make Skirts removable as a few members on here have done

Some of the holes for Skirts are uneven, need to consider straighten up sills which look to be damaged by jack
All gets hiden by Side skirts but it looks rough
can only think it was damage by last owners... 99% time i am careful with jack

I have access to a competent welder so hopefully I can get a few plates welded here and there

Pictures of arches are off...

pictures of damage to sills... there is more i plan to repair/derust all this

Cleaned debris off the sills...

Cyclones will be refitted shortly and Speedlines will be getting powder... unsure of colour yet but they will not be white!

black stuff on sill is Mastic/Silicone will be getting removed

got a fair few bits done last few weeks

New bonnet fitted i cleaned up best i could, rubbed down underside of bonnet and painted with Bianca rattle tins pretty happy with the result

Wheels are away getting Powder coated Anthracite, got standard ish looking Speedline Centre cap gel stickers

Waiting on Front and Rear bumper and side skirts getting painted

had a welder patch in L shape sections replacing any rusty/jack damaged sections.
removed a few patches of rust before and after, used about 3 different Bilt Hamber Rust products that other members on here have been using

Sills fixed... welded, rubbed down, cleaned up, sealed, cleanup some more, Rust inhibitor wax applied inside sills and few other places then painted.

Test fitted Side Skirts seems to fit pretty good.

Can still see the welds, they will pretty much be hidden by Side Skirts

Rubber grommet there for access with Rust inhibitor wax - put this stuff on most panels/box sections I wont see or have access to, most of the interior to avoid any accidents when welding so had access to sills towards back of car.

Delighted with the Rivnut inserts

did have better pictures but seemed to have misplaced them
edit : pictures crap will attempt to find another one

cheers guys, it was a toss up between Anthracite and Gloss Black tbh

yeh i should of got welder to plate upper side of sills but it would be really noticeable
so i tried to make do..... the holes were pretty damaged, attempted to get M5 inserts to fit.... they did really badly though

but then my welder is on holiday so i decided just to drill out larger holes and use M6 inserts on drivers side

it all gets hidden but the semi OCD part of me tells me both sides should be the same LOL

i got more done tonight but bed is calling me.

Good work.

My car had a jacking dent on the driver's sill box section in exactly the same place as yours. Either car fell off jack or jacked car on the sill cover. All fixed now though.

I know what you mean about OCD fixing things to look good even they will never be seen, being under covers etc, I'm the same.

Some movement regards Side skirts and Bumpers
had to rub them down some more though.... painter wants them off me before end of the week

Long last heat shield bracket now fitted

some of the interior back in

I broke passenger side seatbelt, inspecting the springy clip thinking it was broken.... it wasnt but it is now

managed to put it back together but it isnt as tight as it was before
awaiting replacement

tested out my new ramps so i can get my jack right under the car, how the car is sitting just now...

wheels should be back in week or so, getting intercooler bottom brackets powder coated and battery bracket type holder done too this will clean a few minor niggles

Back quarter panels view…. seam sealer and rust inhibitor wax on top

Replacement seatbelt and interior back in

Exterior came back few days ago, left it as long as I could to cure before I got the itch to fit them

Fitted, I think I will cry if I get stone chips Yes

Side Skirts can go on once I sort the daft stickie clips out
Colour difference is not too bad, rather happy

Black masks look the duck's nuts. I tried to avoid getting them on the grounds I'd spend loads but couldn't help myself. Pleased I did.

Your car is looking nice and shiny, I bet it's very satisfying to see it come together.

Made no difference for me. If it made a difference then I can't see why manufactures have black mask headlights as standard on a lot of modern cars.

Yes definitely! The bumpers were the worst part of the car they were a mess. Good feeling having it back on the road LOL

I will see how my Speedlines look on the car, I do like the whole dark wheel and dark headlight masks
But decent ones dont look cheap, and I didnt want to buy someone elses second hand project and have them peel from inside or let moister in.
