I did a search but couldn't find what I'm looking for.

I'd like to know what is the best fuel cleaner for petrol engines. I'm not looking to get more BHP which some can add the odd BHP, but I am looking for the best cleaner to maintain the engine.

Thanks in advance.

advice above is correct. If you do use one that actually does something its best to change your oil straight after as it will contaminate your oil.

I don't see how injector cleaner will contaminate your oil any more than petrol would.

I bought some redex a couple of weeks ago for my bike because it was half price in Tesco (£1.80 a bottle). Don't know if it still is though.

vpower petrol is being used.

Its just a question my dad asked for his bike. He wants to keep it going and maintain it well and he asked what the best fuel cleaner would be. Has anyone else used millers petrol ECOMAX before like vernam616 ? Is there anything better available people would recommend?

But these additives you guys are mentioning have been proven to make sod all difference. My friend that work s in labs for manufacturers testing engines using research grade fuel- ie fuel with no additives- sees no build up of "dirt" at all.

regarding the oil contamination- look on the forums with the obsessives doing loads of oil analysis- bob is the oil guy etc, the evidence is there.

If cleaning the varnish from injectors is all you want, a little IPA in the fuel will absorb moisture and prevent it, if it's carbon buildup, then something like BG44K left to soak on the back of hot valves is about all that will help.

most people agree that these aditives don't do much, and / or can actually damage engines / void warranties.

If you want to treat your motor to some tlc, give it an oil change with some good quality fully synthetic oil.....like i just have! Oil was filthy.
