Maybe this is one for our newly-instated MoT tester... Wink

How much of the suspension (front or rear), if worn, would fail an MoT test? Just put mine through on Wednesday (pass, no advisories Big grin) but wasn't sure whether suspension wear to make it drive worse would all be picked up on an MoT test?

Any experience welcome - not looking for work to do, just want to make sure my car is driving the best it can, that's all.

Pretty sure they test almost every suspension component for excessive play and functionality.

What passes depends purely on the tester and what his idea off acceptable limits are.

My car failed it's MOT last year purely on one worn balljoint, however my mate Mike (on here) had his HDi sail through a couple of MOT's with knackered rear beam mounts.

My car failed last week on excessive play in top mount and play in both ball joints.

I've just spent the best part of £700 on the following

Hubs,
Bilstein Top Mounts
Gmax 60mm springs and struts/dampers
Wishbones,
Balljoints,
ARB bush's
Track rod ends
Drop links
Uprated wheel breaings
2 front tyres.
Various nuts and bolts
IF it does'nt drive mint after i've finished im going to be really really annoyed, lol.
