hi, thanks for the comments.

the car has only covered 82,000 miles and has full service history last service was at 71,000 miles when it had a full cambelt kit fitted.

the engine in the car is mint and sounds sweet as a nut no noises what so ever.

i will wait untill the car is completely done until i decide i price but i do have a rough idea in mind.

also the time im finished this will have had not far off £2000 spent on it.

parts ive bought:

1: new pads and disc`s front and rear
2: new genuine peugeot rallye blanks
3: new crystal headlights
4: new bonnet badge
5: new boot badge
6: new hockeystick clips
7: new rear quarter window bolts
8: new headlight bolts
9: new genuine peugeot wiper blades
10: new genuine peugeot gearknob
11: new tailor made rallye floor matts
12: new full rallye graphic kit

and possibly some new rear lights and a magnex exhaust system.

she will be a lovely rallye when its done.

thanks richard.

UPDATE!

here some pics of some nice new shiny bits for the rallye.

new disc`s front and rear, new pads, new rallye matts, new rallye graphics and a very good condition exhaust system.

i took the calipers off completely stripped them down cleaned them and give them a lick of paint.

i also decided to paint the sump in a nice heat proof silver paint and the diff casing looks lovely all done with the new brakes bolted on.

here are some pics:

i also decided to paint the cam covers. i may be tempted to take the inlet off and also give that a lick of paint just to freshen up the engine bay.

she is coming on slowly and is starting to look very very nice/clean.

another update:

ive now started to build the one side back up ie putting all the seals back on,glass, door locks, mirrors, trim etc etc.

i also gave the paint work another flat and polish before adding the rallye graphics.

here are a few pics of the car:

PLEASE NOTE: the car is still no where near finished everything is only trail fitted and the cyclones are the ones off my black gti-6 not the refurbed wheels. just wanted to get some nice pics of the progress.

it should be completely done by the end of the week.

cheers.

cracking progress. you're going to be kicking yourself when you realise the Rallye stipes on the bonnet are upside down though. Previous owner did the same to mine when fitting new decals.

i just realised that they are on diffarent to other rallyes but i think it looks ok like that it seems to follw the edge of the bonnet better.

i knew i should of checked a pic before i stuck them on doh!

if needs be ill just buy another bonnet decal and put it on how it should be.

cheers.

This is a fantastic transformation.
A real ugly duckling to swan story.
You are doing a great job.

What has happened to the front towing eye though?

thanks for the comments.

this is why i bought the car as i could see the potential she had to be a lovely rallye.

i think the previous owner must have cut the towing eye off for the bumper that was on there.

i have a new towing eye that is going to be welded back on.

thanks richard.

UPDATE!!!

today i removed the inlet on my rallye to repaint it and upon doing this i found that the head has been fully ported and new valves fitted.

also to me the cams look like they have a regrind as they seem to come to more of a point than the standard camshaft.

i will measure them tomorow and see whats what with them. but either way the head has had quite abit of work done to it. the ports are quite abit bigger than standard.

quite a nice discovery im glad i decided to paint the inlet.

I THINK THIS WORK MAY HAVE BEEN DONE BY LAD

here are some pics:

i may have to take better pics as they seem abit naff quality.

Tbh after having a good look at them I'd say 99.9% they are standard, unmodified.

The lobes do look very close to the spray bars but the camshafts are definitly not aftermarket and for the reasons you have both said they do not look to be reground.

This car does look really good now, the pictures dont really do it justice. By the time Rich has finished with his cleaning Ocd it will be one of the best Rallyes out there
