Is there a diffrence between makes of standard discs? when i say diffrence mean are they diff sizes not the overall size i know there all 283mm, just im trying to fit my wilwoods, but the disc keep jamming up, ive tried my orginal discs genuine pug, and lucas discs, both jam up with wilwoods but are fine with standard callipers, waiting on a set of delphi discs coming out, the callipers only fit 1 way so i cant see what im doing wrong, it must be the disc, as these came of a gti6 so they deff should fit with out any problems, the disc looks squint when you get the calliper bolted up,

anyone help??

probably need wilwood discs if they were bought as a kit, try rallydesign, I think they're usually 285mm and probably a different offset.

Im pretty sure all discs are the same size no matter what the make Yes

What do you mean by jamming up? Is the car in gear when you try to spin the disc? Without the calipers does the disc sit flat against the hub as it should?

As far as im aware the kit was designed to be used with standard GTI6 size discs, thats if its one of Welly's kits?

i bought these of roland rat, after looking at the pads, these have been running squint for a while, so ot sure if the bracket isint square, dont know if it is wellys kit or not, but if it is i would be tempted to check the pads if you have wellys kit.

Its unlikely to be an issue with the discs so the bracket could be the cause. It should be evident to the eye if it is straight or not, odd though as i cant imagine how it wouldnt be, think phil made them all up in a batch using the machine Yes

These arent wellys kit, theywere on a 106 and ash's 306 with the same discs, so likely they are ment to be run with the wilwood discs, and im sure there expensive!!

Its probably the rally design kit where you have to use there "expensive" disc's Dry

Wellys kit just uses standard discs and fit fine, suppose you could try to get hold of a set of brackets off phil if he has any left, and then use the standard discs

I think its because your discs are the wrong offset, the rallydesign discs for their kit are 285 x 21mm x ? offset where as standard gti-6 discs are 283 x 22mm with an offset of 27.3 (i think)

Edit, measure the gap between your discs and the wilwood calipers (with pads removed), the disc should be bang centre, if the disc is not central then your discs are the wrong offset

These have been running with the correct discs.

I didnt get discs with them but the guy before me had them on his with the right discs as they fitted his car, you cant get the callipers on with gti6 discs, so ive not covered any miles with them.

Hmm dunno then, maybe sticking piston? or air still in system behind one of the pistons? did you bleed them from the top bleed nipples?

ive not fitted these yet, as i cant as dont have the right discs, but im sure ash had blead them right, maybe not, as the wear is identical between all 4 pads, looks as if the discs were squint, but everything looks square, think it maybe they werent blead properly, will see what the discs are like that come for them an see how they sit, hope it is just air in the system thats caused it.

Sticking piston or the mountings aren't square on the bracket/car.
My brake mounts weren't square on my car - bit of casting debris, throwing the calipers off slightly, I filed them flat and true when I got it.
