Dan86 just fitted two of these on his cars and commented he has never had such a good clutch feel. A few other members have said good things about the quality of Sachs. imho a good choice given some recent replacement Valeo clutch failures.

Sachs are generally trusted on many cars to be honest.

However, you have to admit the original Valeo items do seem to last ages. But then aren't the kits that you get from the dealers different from what the likes of GSF sell (I understand the springs are for one...).

Considering that my dad wants another clutch in the Meridian (I believe it's a similar/same clutch as the GTi-6) how light is Sachs compared to the Valeo or original clutch? My dad's complaining that the clutch is too heavy (he's used to Ford clutches which seem to combine light pedal with good feel (I guess being hydraulic helps there).

Never used a Sachs on a Pug I have to say, but fitted several to HGV's, DAF XF 95's, Scania 94D 220's, a few old Merc 814's and Iveco Cargo's.

I don't think the manufacturer of a clutch will make any difference to how light they feel, fitting a good quality cable (pref o.e) and new Nylon Bushes on the cross shaft will make a massive difference.

Hi mate,

I personally recommend three brands:
Valeo
Sachs
LUK

All three a very good IMO and I wouldn't fit anything other than them. There are diferences but not a great amount.

So I guess the choice is yours...

Hope I helped.
