Time for another track blog for you all to read through/laugh at/abuse, etc.

After recently jumping at the chance to have a company car to do my 25k a year in (320i M Sport), it was definately time to get back into fun cars, ie the French tin cans that i know & love Smile

After much umming & ahhing about turning my existing 328i Sport into a dedicated track car, I tried to fit in in the garage. I failed. It stuck out the front by about 3 foot & I could only get out of the boot

How much did you get it for in the end? If you don't mind me asking.

Also, what have you done with the wheels it came with?

My mate has bought a saxo VTS, and has some silly wheels on it, so he is after some standard ones.

Not planning on camming it tbh, cheaper just to buy something faster lol!! Although you never know with a money pit like this i suppose ...

Made a little bit more progress last night. Fitted the new front bumper (no cracks) and ripped the rest of the interior out in preparation for the cage & bucket seat ... so now have no carpet or sound deadening anywhere.

Obviously need to remove the dash & get all the weight out from behind there as well though Wink

Rubbish pic, but it gives you an idea.



2 minutes after this was taken, i somehow managed to trip over my own feet & throw my rear bumper through the living room window, oops Unsure

Hows this coming along mate?

I've just got my own VTS Shitbox Another chav on 306gti6.com!!! LOL and wondered if you had any of the original bits left that we could do a deal on for my bits (enclosed induction kit,4-2-1 manifold,milltek exhaust etc)

Im planning on fitting some of the garage full of parts i have this weekend, so should be able to get some more pictures up next week. In the meantime, i've now purchase some OMP upper & lower front strut braces to firm things up a little! Sarah also suggested that she would like to attend/drive on the track days with me, so i invested in another OMP subframe for her, along with this little 'racing seat' off eBay:

compbrake gear lever pivot and a set of Miles gear linkages (miles can supply gear lever Pivot AFAIK)

also, there's a roll pin securing one of the lever arms on the gearbox that is common to wear, replace that and it tightens up significantly.

Sound deadening, whats that then Unsure its nearly all out now, stanley knife & some brute force sorted that, although how the loom survived i have no idea!!

In addition, the red hand handled tool is a special interior removing device, ie if it wont unscrew, you stab it & rip it off ...
