Was great to see this motor in the flesh, i kept a bit of tyre as a souvenier (sp? my brain's fried just now) xav's white jacket is ruined cos of the amount of rubber flying off this thing! Laugh my ass off

Forced induction's cheating though. (I'm only saying that cos i was with the n/a boys LOL)

Chris - it's not just a simple case of changing the ECU for a different one on the S/C conversion.

You need to remember the whole philosophy behind the conversion I've developed was to keep the standard ECU. This was to minimise cost, retain features like the immobilser, diagnostics etc.

The way i've done things is quite unique - not many N/A -->> S/C conversions have been done this way, using a draw-through arangement to enable use of the OEM 1 BAR MAP sensor.

Consequently, it's not an ideal platform for an aftermarket ECU to manage, as it's been designed around the standard Marelli ECU.

If you want to run an aftermarket ECU, you would be better re-locating the throttle body to the inlet manifold, use a Cosworth MAP sensor, and install a re-circulating dump-valve.

This is the setup I use on my car with the DTA S60 ECU.

If you want to go down this route I can help you, but it does mean more fabrication and money to make it all work.

Alternatively you could get Wayne to do you a bespoke map for either high boost, low boost, or something inbetween on the standard ECU.

Smile

If you want to go dow

Begbie, its not as simple as that, for me to run omex or that, i need to change my set up and spend more money, changing my manifold and stuff, so think i will end up just getting a live map from wayne, as will work out cheaper, as Rich has told all i need to do to run omex or other managment, will c what happens once im up an running

I am sure you could run omex if you wanted, even if it does mean losing the immobiliser. least that way if you decide to change something you wont have to send your ecu away and get it adjusted to what they "think" is correct, instead pop down to somewhere to get it remmaped.

Dave have you still got that t28 from the 8v lump you had in before?Did you just weld a plate to the standard manifold for it to fit?

the cones are always out on a speed sunday track day

not out on private track nights/days

can only brake when u feel most comfortable to be honest mate

wouldnt say they are the greatest of vids to be fair the last one with me racing the evo would have prob been the best to watch but my camera run out but again could only brake when he was kinda hard to comment on that from the vids as completely diff being in the car

cheers man. I adjusted my bottom mount for the standard turbo to clear the brake servo, never had that problem before when it was in my lhd 306, could of fitted something stupidly huge like whats on your 205 easily!ha. I have a spare mount for if I do need more room.

Nah am fine with what I got, i`ll be gone by time your big washing machine drum has spooled up!lol, I wish!
what plans you doing to it now?

are you doing the rear arms yourself? Have been looking at doing similar to mine, what is it that you have had to do the fron hubs?! you got adjustable top mounts?
I think the longest thing to do is get used to driving it! will take a while to get used to the power and when your able to actually control it to its limits.

You would brake a bit early if you had rolled your car due to brake failure Whistle

Sure that track day was the first time Dave has actually had a bit of confidence in his brakes as they seemed to last well probably due to a bit more cooling with the new wheels.

edit to say the cones are to stop people trying to out brake each other or to stop people turning in on each other.

some of the drives on these speed sundays dont really check their mirrors!
